Gkatana is one of the few primes that is a clear winner and next step in a jobs weapon progression. 100% worth getting if you use sam for anything.

Even at stage4 it will be your best physical ws option on sam, by quite a bit. Hybrids should still favor aeonic.

Thanks (if its simple to describe the fix I'll implement it myself (or if you have a pre-release on your git hub). Love this, so thanks for your support.

To me the most disappointing part of it is sure it's only about even with savage blade at the moment and between the other benefits its probably generally better than naegling for now but the stat mods are so bad. 25 dex and agi vs savage blade 50 str and mnd so as we get more stats savage blade can pull ahead just like it did to blade: ten which used to be much more comprable to savage.

There is absolutely no way I'm grinding 8.5m gallimaufry to be "only about even with savage blade". I have had the max set for Zesho for a long time and could tell at stage 4 the weapon was not going to be as strong as I hoped it would be, which I feel is another shameful Ninja slight. It was okay in Sortie not using Savage for WS Wall, but it wasn't better, since most fights are short anyways, white damage ia mostly irrelevant. It did fine like soloing a/c objective. However, to get those numbers mentioned above, you need REALLY high effective TP. Kunim offhand is significantly weaker than just Hitaki when spamming Zesho meppo, but that's just the power of TP bonus. You'll need a couple extra seconds worth of TPing to get those numbers.

I've joined both Limbus and Sortie PUGs as Ninja and at least in one event someone explicitly said said "Buukki can you just use Savage blade?" (lol) and in the other I specifically switched to savage blade because the damage was simply better. Being able to SC off of savage is definitely a plus, but it's also heavily dependent on timing and not something you can bank on. For example, it occasionally occurs in Limbus but with everyone constantly switching to the same mob, it's out of your control.

When I'm solo without buffs, Dokoku is exceptionally weaker than just Heishi 5-stepping or hybrids, so it's not even a use case for that. It's easier for a simple 3-step MB though. This is coming from someone who loves Ninja to death and has everything for it, besides ml50.

I can't find any situation where I'd want to bring Ninja and this weapon that would encourage me to stage 5 it. I'm sure if I made the weapon to 5 I'd use it more, but from what I've seen, unless I'm killing apex trash (and I can 99k chi/to those with trust buffs, literally), it isn't making me play Ninja anymore than I already do, which is rarely. I hoped different but it's really just what it is.

I'm also on the fence about Spalirisos for the same reasons. I know it's going to be disappointingly weaker than Savage blade, and that takes away a lot of the shine of prime weapons like I have said before. Which sucks because I wish these 1 hangers didn't have Naegling to compete with, it discourages people from putting effort towards stage 5.

For S5 I have literally almost zero doubts.
I was more pondering on S4 I guess.

I have enough Galli for a S4 and honestly I'm not sure if I'm ever gonna find the strength to get a second S5, which implies I might be stuck on S4 forever or for an incredibly long time.

And at that point you wonder, is it worth it? Should I just keep those galli stored and see what happens in the next ~6 months?
Because I'm sure for several other weapons the question is a solid "yes, it's still very very worth it", for GKT in particular though, given the things I mentioned in the previous post, I was getting more tepid feelings about it =/

Does anybody want to share their experience with Prime S4/S5 and Tachi: Mumei?

The few times I was in party (Sheol C and Limbus) with someone the average damage was very good.
Looking ad the stats of Tachi: Mumei though, it doesn't seem particularly, noteworthy?
Its stats are similar to Tachi: Fudo but it scales slightly better as you go further up with TP. 11 vs 8 at 3k for instance.
7,3 vs 5,75 at 2k.
3.66 vs 3.75 at 1k so actually slightly worse there.

Mods are <50% STR+DEX vs Fudo's 80% STR.

So... uhm, it's good, but not particularly impressive?
Considering Fudo gets 500 TP bonus on Doji and 10% damage on Masa (plus a shitton of STR).

What's left then? Other than the obvious prime aftermath and the extremely interesting SC properties, which realistically only matter for stuff where you're the only melee on (and for that stuff, it's gonna be reaaal nice).

Because despite my experience with other users where I noticed very very good performance, but I can't say if they were S4 and S5, on paper I'm left to think that Prime is gonna make a noticeable difference compared to other options (Doji/Masa) only at S5, whereas at S4 it's gonna be ehhhh, maybe a bit better but more or less kinda on the same boat?

Would love to hear more opinions if I missed something important or underestimated something.
I sure hope I did!

This isn’t a ninja problem, it can also happen when wielding laphria, helheim, rdm prime options, spalarisos, Earp, pinaka, and gae buide. Naegling savage blade just hits hard. On the bright side it’s fusion so it makes lv3 skillchains off the brd and corsair savage blades.

Best non AH camping way to get Vomp Carrots? I used three Porcelain flowerpots and Wildgrass Seeds feeding earth like BG says but got random other items. I cant race yet so no way to use chocobucks either. Just wondering if there is a more reliable way before my chick is grown and needs them. I have some carrot paste already. Thanks.

All Worlds Several Areas Emergency Maintenance (Mar. 5)

We will be performing emergency maintenance on the Temenos and Apollyon areas on all Worlds at the time below. During this period, the Temenos and Apollyon areas will be unavailable.

*We have confirmed an issue in Limbus where the data reset did not complete correctly at the end of the previous kill tally period, leaving behind Notorious Monsters that had not been defeated. Consequently, problems may occur, such as the defeat tally not counting kills correctly.
Since this issue only occurs at end of the kill tally period, we plan to implement a fix in the next version update scheduled for Tuesday, March 10, 2026. For those affected by this issue, we have confirmed that restarting the server restores the system to normal, so we will conduct emergency maintenance as a temporary measure.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your understanding.

they can barely sell the gil to anyone

then why are they farming it, sir

RMT is hard capped by their ability to sell that gil, there is no value in farming 100 billion gil if you can only sell 1.

The reason every small server isn't full of botting and RMT is they can't sell it so it would be a waste of electricity to farm it, if they added a combined auction house every small server would now be full of RMT. Since they can sell it to players on the big servers.

I said it has the equivalent of empyrean aftermath 1 full time. It's not as strong as Ukon's white damage, but it's comparable. The whole package makes it unmatched by any other G axe. Laphria is close to ukon's white damage, with skillchaining that's similar to chango's, and disaster is far and away the most powerful standalone G axe weaponskill. Put it all together and it's the best choice for a G axe. The alternatives aren't even close.

I couldnt tank that book of Python Functional Programming anymore.

Damn, every chapter I get lost if dude is explaining the concepts, or if he is just explaining his examples.

For me, it is the worst type of teaching: the one where the tutor instead of being explicit in the teachings, just throw examples, and hope the students will figure out the concept by themselves.

In the era of vibe coding, knowing how to curate a code is more valuable than knowing how to write a function that parse XML using FP paradigm, that is not really FP because Python have a hard time with FP.

Anyway, dropped the book and started my next topic of interest: Godot.

Now things will start becoming really fun.

I haven't personally tested, but going on community testing I believe the prime ODT is ~30% and only procs on the first hit of a round, so I wouldn't say it's "equivalent". It's similar, but not close to equivalent IMO.

For the sake of simplicity looking at WAR with 100% DA, Ukon has 50% ODT and Laphria has effectively 15% (though a bit lower with TA/QA)

Hello all, I just wanted to share my experience with Dokoku V. I've seen a lot of people say it has some bad numbers, I'm not sure what other people are gearsets their using, but I'll share mine and give everyone the numbers I'm seeing. I am ML50, R30 gear, and I got the best ring from TVR, Ephramad's Ring so I am pushing Zesho Meppo to its max potential. I made the sets before I was introduced to the simulator and I have to say the simulator is amazing, very accurate. Anyways, as you all know some of these prime weapons are mostly toys and Ninja isn't recommended to Odyssey Sheol Gaol, sortie 9 boss (obviously) so my experience with the weapon is only on apex enemies, limbus, ambuscade, and any other content that's mostly just fun. The numbers I'm seeing from having +8cor, idris geo is usually around 74k base weaponskill. when I double or triple proc it'll turn into a 82k weaponskills on apex enemies. I haven't tested it with a brd since I got it stage 5. I can put in that information if requested. I've tried Savage blade a few times and while savage blade CAN be higher consistently ,78-82k for me, which is 6k higher. Some people are forgetting the triple damage, added acc, lower delay and stp10. That being said, savage blade can sometimes be the better option and reach higher damage if you have enough buffs. Here are my gearsets

Are any WAR mains considering the WAR/BRD/NIN Limbus set pieces in any sort of big way?

I've seen 100% crit build floated in places, but I wanted to know, what WARs be thinking with Limbus?

The investment is a real long road, even for a single piece, so I wanted to see some more thoughts.

I thought to first just no brain it, and do Quad attack hands and feet for SAM/COR/DRG(haven't Mastered or thoroughly thought out sets for DRG yet) since I became a Galka shortly after the race change option went live since a friend who did a lot for me requested me to become one (I was Hume before lmao).

I'm looking for guidance and thoughts as a source of motivation. Ever since I R30'd my Alabaster Earring I find it increasingly hard to tower climb.

Ukon's ideal use-case is even more niche and sort of requires buy-in from a group to support it properly.

As a former Helheim S4 enjoyer, I still think the most fun I ever had on WAR was just watching big chunky white damage crits with Ukon. I know the dmg is suboptimal, but it's FUN.

When you charge a Moogle Amplifier (doing sufficient damage to three consecutive bosses) and re-enter Gaol to use it can you then fight two more bosses after the amplifier boss to charge another amplifier?
darkwaffle said: »
Or can you just do 3 bosses, use an amplifier, do 3 bosses and then start every subsequent entry with a charge as long as you do 3 at a time?
Yes. Also, the charge bonus will only be applied to the NM which you deal >5% HP damage to and receive RP from while under the effect of the Moogle Amplifier. So if your group is fighting something you don't need RP for, you can select which you receive the charged Amplifier bonus from.

When you charge a Moogle Amplifier (doing sufficient damage to three consecutive bosses) and re-enter Gaol to use it can you then fight two more bosses after the amplifier boss to charge another amplifier? Or does using the amplifier conflict in some way?

Eg: To charge an amplifier do you have to do 3 bosses, leave, do 1 amplified boss, leave, do 3 bosses and then repeat? Or can you just do 3 bosses, use an amplifier, do 3 bosses and then start every subsequent entry with a charge as long as you do 3 at a time?

I have to imagine that Laphria and Helheim occupy the same general spot in a WAR's kit, a 2h Naegling-dethroning slashing option that plays well in zerg and takes good advantage of skillchain opportunities. Notably, both Disaster and Fimbulvetr play nicely with Savage Blade, so if you pair up with a BRD or COR you can do some pretty sick work. Laphria offers break options, Helheim gives access to Shockwave.

In my experience, Chango is still the GOAT for WAR multi-stepping light solo but as Taint points out that's pretty niche. Ukon's ideal use-case is even more niche and sort of requires buy-in from a group to support it properly.

The nice thing about both of the Primes available to WAR is that they can both be used for infinite multi-step level 1 SCs that you can then curtail up to Darkness at whatever your cap is, if you feel so inclined.

But basically with Laphria:

Disaster -> Steel Cyclone = Detonation, and after that you alternate them until SC window closes for infinite Scission/Detonation play. You may also do the endless Transifion <-> Compression if you opt into Keen Edge instead (opponent absorbs Earth or Wind)

With Helheim:

Fimbulvetr -> Resolution, Crescent Moon, or Hard Slash. and then alternate for endless Scission -> Detonation loop. Fimbulvetr -> Power Slash for the endless Transfixion <-> Compression loop.

Your WS damage with SC bonus from gear should be high enough that any level 1 closed with Prime WS starts to get up towards cap damage if you've got thicc buffs. Helheim is at advantage from getting to pair stronger WS in their infinite loop, but infinite loop is not something many people consider or execute. Disaster gives Great Axe the ability to single step Darkness by reversing order with Steel Cyclone -> Disaster, which has its place, sometimes.

Geas Fete NMs gonna get wrecked by either just standard spamming Prime WS. Since SC damage is first tied to WS damage, Primes kind of break the idea of enhanced SC damage aftermath. Since their WSes hit substantially harder than Aeonic, they'll produce similar SC numbers on top of higher WS number and higher white damage. The Aeonic SC is flashy and cool, and still has its place, but Primes just put it too shame (I wish they made Umbra or Radiance just so we could see the "new" animations independent of an aftermath tbh).

Salads are +0 to DSC/RCP and so are Carrots. The reason I know this is because I attempted to raise a chocobo with 96 in STR/END/DSC by day 29 in order obtain all 3 of the physical characteristics like the Noble chocobo mount.

We are lucky that Ivaar's chococard addon exists and it removes all the guesswork and also all of the information from past guides are about the system before the 2016 rework.

I recommend the first bird for anyone new to chocobos be raised like this:

Abilities to obtain: Gallop & Canter

Day 1-5 Basic Care

Day 6-20 Listen to Music

Day 21-30 Exhibit to the Public

Day 31-64 Delivering Messages (If STR caps early switch to Digging for Treasure)

Day 65+ Basic Care (Buying time to purchase/farm chocobucks to increase END to 4-34 and RCP back to 96-128 before day 120 using R: tokens)

254 4 254 128
Once this bird is made all the rest come much easier.

I understand that the intellect stats RSC and DSC allow the bird to be smarter in the races, and your saddle gets your END to the minimum value you want to still be decent in the races, but I could trim a bunch of stats in favor of more END in order to have a good hybrid bird for more digs per day right?

It'd simply come at the cost of consistency winning races, but they're RNG anyway and I could just brute force them... no?
