CHOCOBO DIGGING SKILLUP BONUS CAMPAIGN

next month

So, I won't be able to tell if my digging skill ranks up because of the campaign? ...god damn it. -_-;

I did not see this coming! Thanks SE! ...now, when we can expect job adjustments for Beastmaster :)

I don't know how you make that work though, cause you don't want the same stats on tanks as rdms and rangers as whms as dds

Can just seperate it based on trust "type" which they seemingly have them marked as icon wise, though that could just be for sorting purposes. Likely also expecting too much but say 1 piece is hp+5% tank trust: hp+10% dt-20. Any trust gets +5% tanks get 15% and dt-20

"Easy" way to make all equips useable but also seperating out the more potentially busted effects

I hope this means we'll actually be able to see the stats on the different trusts!

Sure, you'll be able to see it by trading a Trust-specific RareEx item to a random Taru NPC on the Airship to Kazham

This looks neat, I'll have to check it out.

My wife was talking about wanting to get these for $30. I told her we should just go buy the actual cartridges from our local game store instead.

It got me thinking about how different gaming and owning games is now. I still have all my old systems and a bunch of games for them. I can pop in a cartridge and play anything whenever I want. Every PC game I've "purchased" for the past 15 years requires me to download it from Steam, sign into some launcher, download more stuff from them, then if I'm lucky I'll get to play it. More often I'm gonna be stuck trying to get my controller working, display setup correctly, graphic settings adjusted... I'm getting very close to becoming a console player again. PC gaming is frustrating these days.

I'm sure if society collapses and we lose the internet, I probably won't be putting many hours into Pixel Remasters, but GDI I want to have that option still!
I believe I'm the opposite where I enjoy the tinkering with graphics settings, getting display set up, etc. I've been on PC primarily for the last 12 years and do not see myself going back to console, even though I own a PS5.

Just curious about your controller and issues on PC, what problems have you run into? What controller is your go to?

I mean there's other reasons someone may want to be on a high/low pop server so it won't kill transfers completely, but it would nullify a lot of economic reasons although some people will probably flee the higher pop servers with a more viable AH.
You can still move chars to/from Asura/Bahamut provided you have a char on that server already, so its not zeroed out on those servers.
This is incorrect. You can create a mule on a locked server, but all transfers to the server are shut off. You cant, as what you said implies, create a mule on a different server and transfer it to Asura, or transfer a mule off and buy stuff and then transfer them back.
By Akumasama on 2026-03-03 16:44:53
Do you think they mean gear for PLAYERS (that has to be equipped by players) to boost trust?
I read their message as a system with gear for TRUSTS, so not items that need to be equipped by players.
By . on 2026-03-03 16:38:10
It doesn't work competitively either.

Doesn't stop "team games" being pushed when the only team games that work are ones that have objectives, not just PvP.
By . on 2026-03-03 16:32:16
3v3 PVP in shooters does not work. Nobody wants it and every game developer should know that by now. Catering to the competitive crowd will blow up on the launchpad.

Oh I don't disagree, in practical application anyway. Anyone with Sworn armor and Helheim S4/S5 and Lionheart R15 shouldn't have be told not to use Adhemar in dangerous content. I did put a disclaimer in the very beginning of my posts though:

Helheim does have the benefit of its ideal WS set being more defensive than Lionheart's non-Sworn WS set. I believe a mix of Adhemar/Herculean/Samnuha is RUN's best non-Sworn Reso gear, which of course you very likely wouldn't be using at the risk of death and instead opt to Reso in Nyame at the cost of damage loss for a few years until you rank up Sworn. I think it's more realistic to compare Nyame Fimbulvetr vs Nyame Reso.

Based on their wording we have some idea of what they are going to do. I imagine that the Trust gear system is going to be all new gear (or at least only include very specific already existing gears only, not everything). At least, not in the way you might think - more on this in a minute.

They specifically called out PUP parts as a similar system, so expect things like a chestpiece that gives the trust +% Haste or shoes that allow the use of a specific WS.

They could even bake existing gear into this. Equipping your trust with a Caladbolg isn't going to give it all of the stats - instead, it will give them Torcleaver and some +Attack or something. This has the downside of further bloating item descriptions though, which is why I assume they are going to go with all new gear or carefully selected existing things.

Perhaps a new tab to shuffle through on gear when pressing the (-) key? It gets messy fast...

Making a centralized auction house would fix problems, however shareholders wouldnt like it because they'd be losing out on those sweet sweet server transfer bux.

They're not getting any money from that closing servers either.

Whatever youre lowmanning, youd probably fare better with an actual DD over GEO. If youre against that for whatever reason, you would get much better mileage with BRD over GEO.

By Nariont on 2026-03-03 14:12:14
Either is fine imo. BLU is more offensive and paired with geo can debilitate alot of mobs as you gear up or just do the classic fury/frail and go ham especially for content bubbles arent nerfed.

Rdm has better crowd control/debuffs but lacks a bit on offense, can also MB better since its not tied to a 2min timer for when thats useful.
By Bookwyrm88 on 2026-03-03 13:37:43
Ok, if he or I were to run RDM, what would be the ideal duo partner for it? Would sch closing sc and magic bursting be more valuable or more buffs via geo or cor?
By Xilk on 2026-03-03 13:26:02
I think the equipment will be the more interesting of the 2 systems by far. This is reminiscent of the Adventurer companion.

I would love it if you actually traded normal player equipment to trusts, but I don't think they will go that way. It sounds like it will be "new" equipment as they say, like attachments for puppetmaster. So all trusts will become automatons? kinda sad for pup maybe

However the following quote is what will impact us sooner and there needs more immediate attention:

Quote:
The system is designed so that you can strengthen your alter egos by allocating points to any stat. All stats can eventually be maxed out,

I hope this means we'll actually be able to see the stats on the different trusts!

Furthermore... what does it mean to max out a stat? It sounds like we are upgrading only these: HP, MP, STR, DEX, VIT, AGI, MND, INT, CHR
When it says stats can be maxed out? does it mean there is a clearly stated cap? or I can get their AGI up to 999?

and we can't reallocate so I want to plan my allocations. This actually sounds fun IF I can see their current stats.

Maybe I want to make Lilisette's CHR just insane for bigger waltz cures.

Maybe I want the most ridiculously evasive Amchuchu, or the BIGGEST HP pool on Valaineral.

Will this include Unity trusts? what happens if I switch Unity?

I find this change REALLY interesting.

Back to the trust gear questions:
Can I have August, permanently wearing the Founders set so his Killer Effect is high?

Can I give Gessho the Yagyu Darkblade?

How about a Daybreak for a whm or rdm? Will they start doing dispelga?

There are some niche pieces of equipment that might be super useful for specific trusts. The ones w/ peculiar mechanics especially are of interest.
IF they let us give player equipment to trusts.

Daybreak for Ingrid II might make her a much more powerful nuker of undead.

So i grabbed the new version and my hacked lua Helix duration with 30 in it from a few weeks ago was still there, never touched it and the duration looks to be correct (maybe +/- 3-5 seconds).

Thanks!

(they could have better gear/know how to gear better, but I don't think that would explain the gap in WS damage that can be easily eyeballed)

Eyeball is not a good test. My WS avg during a recent Limbus run was 5k dmg higher as a Stage 4 Foenaria vs a Stage 5, but he had 25 more WS than me in Apollyon due to severe lag. He was also ML50 vs my ML34. Both Hoxne Ampulla and same gear/Nyame rank. Now, I probably was holding TP higher and maybe he was WSing at 1k for speed, so it could be any number of factors between the two that translates to the difference in damage. And this was comparing the same weapon and job. So with eyeballing Origin vs Torcleaver, it's not always going to be clearly obvious which WS is stronger just from looking at a log. From my personal experience, I haven't noticed a significant bump in damage between Origin and Torcleaver, but I would have to pay closer attention to it next time I use Caladbolg (which I rarely do anymore).
No disagreement there. Would love to see some controlled tests.

Odin now, huh?

Can we get odds on the next server to be somehow overrun?

Genuinely, what’s the end goal of closing down a 3rd server and when does it end? This feels like a lazy fix to a problem SE don’t want to address. Ultimately it’ll just end up hurting the game if SE closes every server they deem too big. You can only funnel people into smaller servers so much - especially without any incentive to leave a higher pop server.

Congestion is a problem, for instance for things like Ambuscade during vanabout or something. They have to try spread people around.

However I think it's also about RMT

If you have a large population server the RMT go onto it, then farm gil in any and all ways possible. They get banned, but they don't care since they just buy a new copy of the game and start again and again. Getting banned is just a cost they take into account, and it's all automated anyway. They even buy pre-leveled accounts (and other rmt were leveling them to sell).

The easy fix it to take the most profitable servers for RMT and simply close them. The RMT that remain are the ones that make gil in methods that attract less attention, cause getting banned is now a big deal. They can't easily replace those accounts.

Closing the biggest servers did serious damage to the rmt industry on XI, and since they cause all kinds of annoying problems it's a net positive. They destroy the economy, abuse any weakness with hacking, cause problems for players, force them to put more manpower into banning etc. They buy new copies but it's probably far more annoying than it's worth.

They also cannot open these servers in future, cause if they do the problem will simply start again and endless botted level 1 characters will begin again.

The reason this won't happen on other servers anytime soon is there simply are not enough customers on those to make the entire thing even worth bothering with, you can bot 100 billion gil but if you can't sell it what's the point?

We've got one network of RMT shouting to sell exp[1]. We've got dyna and salv botters to sell currency[2]. We've got an active crafting shell that buys and sells to keep things stocked (these folks rock, actually). We've got a strong jp community. I think we'll weather the storm fairly well at this stage of the game.

All that being said, Phoenix is a hellhole, you don't want to come here.

First off: NYAME set. I got a carry and have the base set. Is it better to focus one piece at a time or level them up evenly. Is there a rank I should aim to hit before moving to another piece?

If you can get free RP it doesn't matter because you'll be done quick, but if you're limited, spread it across the pieces. You'll get a better increase for your character sooner if you RP multiple pieces past a certain rank vs just one. You can also hold off on RPing the body, head and legs if you like, as you can get the JSE empyrean head, af body and relic legs which all offer Weaponskill Damage. It's a relatively easy upgrade that will boost your damage a lot for lesser effort than spamming Bumbas. The Empyrean +3 head goes a long way on BLU, too, so there's no rush to rank Nyame head path B if you don't want to.

Asura.Kiora said: »
Secondly, HTMB. Between myself and my buddy, we have a LOT of JSE to reforge. What kind of gear level should I be at before duo VD fights for chapters with trust support? I have base nyame, naegling, working on the TP sword now. I have my BLU neck+2. A smattering of ammo items for STP and a random assortment of earrings/rings some are BIS from what i see on the guides but I don’t have a “complete” BiS set for anything.

You can do it right now. The fights are all easy, and you can just wear Nyame 5/5, sleep adds, and kill one by one. Its incredibly easy now, go in and spank em.

Asura.Kiora said: »
Lastly, Is BLU + GEO a solid setup for lowman? Would we get better results if he went SCH/BRD/COR/RDM?

BLU is a phenomenal solo job if you are geared and proficient with the job. I would say BLU+BRD can cover pretty much everything you need to accomplish. BRD can buff with songs, BLU can cap haste on his own, heal, DD, crowd control support if needed. BRD supports with crowd control. GEO would work too, kind of the same difference, unless the BRD is lacking song+ gear, GEO might get better attack buffs and can focus on healing more. I think both are a good combination. Even BLU+COR is great with rolls, you have options.

Going to try and sit down this weekend and see if i can figure it out myself, but will ask just in case someone already knows.

I assume R0 items are not worth wearing at the moment, if right then when would items rank make it worth it? I assume this is a very nuanced and complicated question. I love new shinny but dont want to invest/wear them and suffer massively. Thanks again for all the insight /bow.
