You all knew this.
You all knew this, and let a thread that started off like this go on for nine pages. NINE pages.

Yes, I'm pissed. >>>>>I've temporarily banned Flionheart,<<<<< and I've half a mind to set penalties for the rest of the people who egged him on, and DIDN'T REPORT the offense. NINE PAGES!
Next time, don't just report the people that annoy you, report actual offenses. I'm sure you all had a riot in there, "posting in an epic thread." But that was strictly against forum regulations, which we mods and admins try pretty damn hard to uphold in our spare time, and you all had to go and ***on it.
Honestly, he's right. People are stupid and put too much information on the internet. But like was said, that doesn't make it right to post it on here. A lesson really should be taken from this, but I won't put ignoring it past half the people who post on here anyway :( To say whether you want it found or not is a little misleading. Unless someone else is posting your information somewhere, you can leave a very small footprint on the internet by recognizing it is a dangerous place. You kind of have to recognize from day 1 though.

i'll admit to being curious as to whether i've sufficiently covered my tracks
i know someone could find a pic, i don't think they could find a name, and i'm almost certain they couldn't find an address
As someone who somewhat recently had his privacy violated by an FFXI player (Used to be a friend... I didn't add people on MSN who weren't >< Click my MSN icon, notice the account solely for FFXI players?) I kind of wish people would take this more seriously. Half of you use the same email for everything, I'm sure. If I started putting information that I have on some people into Google searches, I'm sure most of them have rl information come up. Flion is an idiot, and always has been. He didn't do anything spectacular, a 12 year old can do what he did. Glad he felt he accomplished something teaching someone that the internet hides nothing in the most public way possible. That people can applaud invading others' privacy is kind of sad.
I have like 8 email accounts, no myspace, no facebook, etc etc. My information is probably out there somewhere though.
It's not so much about the information though, it's about tying it to people first. I can do random Google searches and find the address of some little old lady from Alabama. I could run across your information on the net and never know it was you, when I CAN tie it to you, it becomes useful in malicious ways.
