id like to note that i think i have already posted this set in another thread for the sam update. think it was the one i made, but:

imo, not adding more zanshin to a 5 hit build for sam would be gimping it. i personally havent done any testing, but i would presume that with 5/5 ikishoten a zanshin proc would be better than a da proc. there lies the reason behind the switch from tactical&bullwhip to unkai&goading instead of to atheling&bullwhip. im also losing 2% haste but also adding ace's mufflers in for more zanshin.

so in short, in my build, i see no reason to not add more zanshin if you have the option to add it.

Isn't 5/5 ikish merits just a 15tp return? I have not had time to get on and test but I thought it was 3tp each merit making DA's better? Also im never swapping +1 dusk for ace's and I would be dubious about atheling. <3 that back.

3tp per merit yes. so for simplicity ill explain it this way. say each reg hit u make gives u 20tp. since zanshin can now proc after a landed hit u will get a second hit with the extra 15 tp. this makes the second hit in that attack(the zanshin hit) round worth 35tp. so a zanshin proc would be 20+35=55 in one attack round, in comparison to a da proc which would be 20+20=40 tp.

all in all, to each his or her own. im in no way telling ppl they need to use this set to be good. just throwing out what use have so ppl can have some options.

Thanks for the reply, cant wait to get on and test some ikish merits for myself >:D

while in theory it makes sense, we still have little to no info on the new zanshin update. Keep in mind zanshin is like what? 35% proc before, but with hasso only 10% roughly has been copnfirmed to proc a la DA manner, which means we have to see exactly how much things like gear and merits affect the hasso zanshin

Also what is the effect during seigan? have to keep in mind if you ever have to fall back on this it might be better to have DA rather then zenshin.

Personally i think it is a bit early to drop time and effort working with this stuff till it is confirmed, so for time being i am only making sure to work with the extra 5stp and switching to some ikoshoten merits(extra tp could be useful if anything at least for tp bonus? and no idea if zenshin merits works with it yet which might be worth dropping medi for it if it does)

yes a lot more larger sample sized tests still need to be done. i may have or am jumping the gun but i dont really see too negative effects in switching the gear that i have for more zanshin. maybe im not thinking outside of the box lol.

as for seigan, i believe the more zanshin you have, the higher the chance that you counter an attack.

"*The samurai ability Seigan is now augmented with a bonus based on the player's Zanshin attack rate that increases the chance of countering an anticipated attack."

Also a 4-hit Masamune Setup:

You need to eat carbonara

Wouldn't you also need to equip Masamune?
LOL

Make maths before replying, if you eat carbonara you get 4-hit setup with masamune

I did and I still think you're short but 8.

Did u added the new STP trait? full merit? i have triple checked it

Yes, I even did it on FFXIcalc to make sure.

And before you ask, it was accounted for.

bumping this thread cause i didnt want to make a whole other thread dedicated to it.

i tp in zelus tiara.
i want to tp in unkai+2 when i have seigan up.
would i need to make a whole other tp set to use "if buff active seigan"? or is there some other way to use the unkai head when i have seigan up?

Is this just a spellcast question?
Code
<if buffactive="seigan">
   <equip when="precast" set="w/e">
      <head>unkai head</head>
   </equip>

this did not work. ill post my tp rules to see if it may be easier to edit them to add unkai kabuto +2
or better yet a set of engaged rules that are a bit more simplified than this, with a working if buff active seigan rule for unkai kabuto +2 :/

Not really simpler, but this -should- work...
Code
<action type="equip" set="idle" when="idle"/>
        <if status="engaged">
            <if mode="or" target="$highevamobs" buffactive="Blind|Flash">
				<if buffactive="Seigan">
					<action type="equip" set="Melee" setgroup="HighAcc" when="Engaged|AfterCast">
						<head lock="true">Unkai Kabuto +2</head>
					</action>
					<action type="addtochat" when="Engaged|AfterCast">Engaged: HighAcc for %Target</action>
				</if>
				<else>
					<action type="equip" set="Melee" setgroup="HighAcc" when="Engaged|AfterCast" />
					<action type="addtochat" when="Engaged|AfterCast">Engaged: HighAcc for %Target</action>
				</else>
            </if>
            <else>
				<if BuffActive="Seigan">

I used to use a Hasso/Seigan set that would use Zelus/af3legs and af3head/bustle dirs, but I found the hasso set would leave me at 99tp after using the new JA, Hagakure. In the end I scrapped it and used the seigan set which is capped haste/5hit, fulltime. I'm not sure what your set is like but that's just something to consider.

the fix that greggles has come up with does not employ the use of anther set. so i shouldnt run into that issue.

4-Hit build with 26% Haste any good?

Will 25% more weaponskills with Kiku still fall behind Masa?

5 hit

6 hit can drop head for more haste, in the 5 hit just need to WS rose rajas and +2 leg to maintain 5 hit.

Prothescar, bro, need 48 STP in TP gear, especially if you're going to WS without Rajas. D: You'd have to swap in Tactical instead of Atheling, which is a pretty big hit to DPS. Off the top of my head, I don't know how not WSing in Rajas would affect your overall TP gain. Probably need to slap on 2 more STP during TP...?

EDIT: Forgot to add "if you're going for 5-hit."
