I wasn't. lol I used to read Poe shorts in school, when I did work for the school (or was in detention in the earlier days) I'd get old text books from those reading classes and look for stuff by Poe or Kurt Vonnegut, my fave short was The Tell-Tale Heart for Poe, and I don't remember the title, but for Vonnegut it was a story in which a futuristic, automated house went through its daily routine, empty, and slowly broke down, only giving hints to why it was abandoned.
Y'know, that Vonnegut piece sounds familiar. And of course Poe is a classic. I haven't read a lot of short fiction, but I do have some favorites, including Stephen Crane's The Open Boat and The Blue Hotel. Also, his poem "A Man Said to the Universe" is one of my favorites:
A man said to the universe:
“Sir, I exist!"
“However,” replied the universe,
“The fact has not created in me
“A sense of obligation.”
does anyone know how to have all calls go straight to voicemail on a phone without turning it off or having to decline the call? i don't want it to ring at all but i still need to get texts

Check your contact's profile options. On my android, I have an option specifically to send all calls from said contact to voicemail.
they're not a contact and i don't know the number they'd be calling from
I think it only works for numbers you already have in your contacts. At least for my android. Not sure about others.
Although, you can set your ringtone to be Silent and have your notification to be something else for texts and such. That way, you won't know when you're getting a call but you'll hear a text.... however, it's a global thing as it silences all phone calls.

You could go into your voicemail/carrier and set up call forwarding to forward all calls directly to voicemail.
Or go to the market and search for "Call Blocker". There are plenty of free ones that can block all calls and still allow texts/data.
This is a thread that I found on another website I post at. It can be really really interesting. I thought it deserved a place here.
Post your random thoughts for the day here, or anything else that intrigues you.
For starters, is it possible to give constructive critism to someone who doesn't have a neck? I totally just walked by a girl who didn't. Someone isn't getting a necklace for Valentines day!
And who decided black and white can't be colors? I want to say a racist. I really do.
