Well, Googs says that it's a word that's been in the English language for a while. I may know my content, but it's a misnomer to assume that English teachers know every word in the dictionary.

I think it was FDR that owned an Amphicar, he used to take guests for rides and scare them by driving into a lake screaming that his brakes went out.

I do it all the time :D I used to keep this small notebook at my desk where if I came across a word I didn't know I'd write it down, look it up later, then write the definition down too. I dunno if it actually helped my vocabulary, but it felt productive I guess.

Yes but it is off the GCD so it will still increase you damage.
