Considering selling my 2010 Camaro SS and getting a more wallet-friendly car.
We paid $29,000 for it brand new 0 miles. As of today it has ~50k miles on it. It's paid off.
A tire set costs about $1100 and that's in the cheaper range. The fronts are usually $300 a piece and the backs about $450. Mileage warranty is a *** to find too because the front and back tires are two (I think) sizes different, so you can't rotate your tires, thus my back ones burn up a lot faster. Already replaced 2 in the last year AFTER buying a whole new set... Once my fault, other one I have no idea how it happened.
Oil change is like $70 with synthetic mobile 1.
Premium gas is like ~$3.70 and I get like... 18-20 mpg highway. To drive to my mom's place and back (total of 2 hours) I use half a tank of gas. When it takes $60 ish to fill up, that's a lot.
Any maintenance is a ***. Someone hit my car 2 years ago and we spent probably 4-5k fixing it.
OVERALL, what you guys think? Would it benefit me to just trade her in for something mileage and money friendly?
Family friend that owns a car dealership took our VIN and checked it out and said it'd be worth every bit of $20,000 if we sell it ourselves and not through a dealership.
with the money you get from selling it you could prolly get a nice, likely much more efficient car. then down the line when you've got more disposable income you can grab another sports car as a pleasure cruiser or something.
Yeah that's what I've been thinking. I just can't justify those costs anymore plus it'd be nice to be able to take a drive to Dallas without paying in gas the same I'd pay to spend the entire weekend there. /headdesk
just be careful that you don't get duped! 50k miles isn't a lot on a performance engine, can get quite a large amount of the original value out of it probably.

Get a motorcycle, and a mid sized car, that way you have the comfort of a car for the days you need it, and the awesomeness of a motorcycle (and the cheap gas).
yea got anouther guy at work to pick up DS.. had to tell him to get the timing down and it will be a bit easyer lol, hes gone through a controller now playing it ;x
but hes going to get DS2 now
I been thinking about buying a new car lately too, there's nothing ultimately wrong with mine at the moment, but it's just not quite what it used to be. As would be expected for a vehicle with 320,000 km on it (198000-ish miles). Like any honda it has head gasket problems and burns oil like crazy, usually fouls up spark plugs 2-3 times a year. cuts 100km off my mileage when that happens every time.
Planning on buying one of the newer Accords, probably a hybrid. In Ontario i don't have to get emissions testing for hybrid vehicles ever. :3
hmm, I wonder what's up with my laptop, XI keeps crashing. Did it once, so got back in, homepointed, went to go finish quest, d/c'd>crashed, so shut the VM down, rebooted, did a file check, both POL and XI look clean.
This is a thread that I found on another website I post at. It can be really really interesting. I thought it deserved a place here.
Post your random thoughts for the day here, or anything else that intrigues you.
For starters, is it possible to give constructive critism to someone who doesn't have a neck? I totally just walked by a girl who didn't. Someone isn't getting a necklace for Valentines day!
And who decided black and white can't be colors? I want to say a racist. I really do.
