Anyways, will Ricky Jones be rushed through the courts as well for shouting in a microphone on camera "we need to cut their throats (just to ensure there was no misunderstanding, he gestured slashing his own throat with his index finger as he said it) and get rid of them all" just like people who were posting mean things on Twitter were rushed through the courts?

Or do these expedited rushed court cases only apply to speculated far-right people?

Aw... US women got the golden in soccer.

Good job.

I thought we would have a good chance after the win against Spain, but US women were in higher level of maturity in the game.

To complete a bad day, a food I asked for delivery ended as the second worst delivery ever.

From the start it estimated 1h to deliver a product normally would take 20 minutes.

Then the guy delivering it took my food, and somehow went south, went north before finally converging to my house.

In the end, it was almost 2h waiting for it to arrive. 40 minutes of it because the delivery man went to stroll in the city.

It wasnt any cheap btw. I probably paid 100% more in the delivery if I had go out of my way and got it physically when I was few meters away from the restaurant.

Now my mood is sour, cant focus to study nor Im actually hungry because I ate something after I saw the long estimation time to delivery.

Generally know anything youre going to respond with, usually pretty obvious.

Jailing people for being present at a protest, which all three countries you listed have in their charter / bill of rights, that just happened to go south by a handful of malicious actors because they were present at the protest is a bad thing. Thats some dictatorship ***straight out of North Korea.

Right to protest:
UK: article 11 of the European Convention of Human Rights
Canada: section 2c of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms

So yeah, what you're suggesting violates the human rights of those other countries you listed. Not a good look.

I don't understand the controversy. There is a difference between peaceful protest and riot no?

Peaceful protest: hold a sign that says (insert your peaceful opinions) and stand on sides of streets without causing inconvenience to anybody.

Riot: run on the street breaking things, attacking people(or encourage people to attack the others), blocking roads and cause significant inconvenience and money loss in the society.

Pretty sure it is the latter action that's crime.

Likewise saying "I think we should reduce immigrants" is opinion, not disinformation. That shouldn't be banned.

Saying "3 people are killed by immigrants yesterday" when they didn't is disinformation. Which should be banned.

I don't understand what is so hard to tell the difference between them.

Comparing North Korea with western countries is lol. In North Korea people literally received death penalty if they watch south Korea TV shows from a USB. They are not even comparable.

“Lol theyre not even comparable”

Two years ago if you told me people from first would countries would be jailed for comments on social media, i would have laughed at you over how *** stupid that is. It has now happened.

You think the slippery slope stops there??

Also you are clearly missing the point that being at a protest BEFORE it devolves into a riot still makes you guilty of being a bystander. Such a precedent means that even innocent people will mask their identity even if theyre a peaceful protester.

They never said that. First, they said they heard from someone else, and then said IF that were true, ***will pop off.
The first part is speculation, the second part is an opinion based on that speculation. Nowhere did she state anything as fact.

And once again, speculation that was allowed to run rampant because the police kept the identity of someone who MURDERED THREE CHILDREN private.

Opinion or disinformation? Those are not the same.

Say if you run a restaurant. Your competitors make disinformation online saying your restaurant poisons people. And you lose money because of such disinformation.

I think in this case it is not "north Korea" to punish those who uses disinformation as a weapon. As they legitimately caused harm to other people.

Same can be said for politics.

Banning disinformation doesn't make one "north Korea".

So people "heard" disinformation from someone else and spread them, which leads to riot and significant money loss in the society?

Yup, such posts should be taken down and regulated. Don't need to be a north Korean authoritarian supporter to support that.

Afania supports the thought police dictating what people are and are not discussing when the people with the information keep it secret.

Is that opinion or disinformation?

If disinformation that causes harm is a jailable offence, Kier should be in jail for this banger:
https://x.com/keir_starmer/status/1379836722947764225

And no, this isnt right wing antivax garbage.
The AZ vaccine was not safe and a lot of countries (mine included) pulled it from distribution mid pandemic because of how often the life changing/ending side effects were happening.

I don't understand.

If you SPECULATE something happened, ask the department responsible for revealing the real information.

Don't post "someone else told me Jack killed 3 people" online if you don't know if that's true.

Punishing such behavior isn't "north Korea". Otherwise anyone can spam disinformation online, intentionally or unintentionally, and gain an edge in market competitions.

Anyone can become a victim of such behavior.

You really can't tell the difference between opinion and disinformation isn't it?

That post is an opinion, not disinformation. He thinks AZ vaccine is safe. "Safe" is a subjective term, which makes it an opinion.

If 1 out of 100 people died from Vaccine, people can still think it's "safe" because that's just an opinion. Everyone has different standards on what "safe" means.

If he said "there are zero death from AZ vaccine" THEN it's disinformation. Because it's a verifiable facts that people can die from taking AZ vaccine.

That post is perfectly fine imo.

I started Infinity Strash on Switch.

Aside the cost of it (near 60 bucks for the complete game), so far, it was being a nice nostalgia trip in the Advnture of Dai, one of my beloved stories.

Back when I was a kid, I liked Dai more than the original Dragon Ball.

The game so far just had 2 battles and lots of recaps of the anime. Im waiting till we can get to the gameplay part where I can play a bit more in developing Dai and party.

We will see.

If it is as difficult to change or obliterate as a part of the US constitution is I will accept it.

The US constitution said:
An amendment may be proposed by a two-thirds vote of both Houses of Congress, or, if two-thirds of the States request one, by a convention called for that purpose. The amendment must then be ratified by three-fourths of the State legislatures, or three-fourths of conventions called in each State for ratification.

Well yeah, not only it is an opinion, it's a very reasonable opinion too.

AZ does have some side effects like blood clog etc, but that's like 0.21 case out of a million.

So the chance of such side effect is extremely low and the lives that it saved is probably like millions.

There are better vaccines, but AZ was "good enough" for people with out access at that time. Using the term "safe" to describe it is perfectly reasonable imo.

In the USA that's legal and not actionable*.

Saying "Jack killed 3 people" is still legal but eminently actionable.

*Legalese for you can get sued for this.

Except I never say that. If you think regulating disinformation that hurts people is the same as "govern us harder" you need wiki the meaning of the term "disinformation". Because you clearly don't get what it means.

But did this Human Rights Commissioner got send to jail for his online post though? If not then what's the problem? It's not even a law problem in this case, it is political problem.

This is a completely different issue from disinformation laws.

Everyone who said the AZ vaccine wasnt safe three years under these current authoritarian laws would be jailed under the guise of misinformation. Some would probably still be in jail today. Except it wouldnt have been misinformation, it would have been an accurate statement as multiple other countries pulled that vaccine from use mid-pandemic because it was unsafe.

You somehow dont see a problem with this.

Using the term "safe" or "unsafe" to describe AZ is opinion, not disinformation. It's like the third time that I had to point out the difference because you just can't distinguish them.

If you say AZ is unsafe (or safe, whatever), it's your opinion, not disinformation.

Stop scaring yourself lol.

Wait what? In Canada's justice system it is people who hires human rights commissioner that is judging in the court?

I don't understand your concern....

I thought it's judges that made such decision, not ministry officials?

And isn't justice system completely separate from politics?

What's the problem here exactly?

I just don't understand all the fears.

Which is exactly what is happening in the UK, they are punishing people incredibly harshly with speed ran trials, and with multiple years in jail for retweets or for shouting at a policeman. The goal is to make people afraid of saying things online or resisting the government. They reason they can do this, is because these people are all working class and don't have proper legal defense, and so can easily have the book thrown at them with no resistance.

In my country we have laws that regulate disinformation that was passed like 6 years ago.

6 years later not only people protest and resist government perfectly fine, our freedom scores actually increased according to freedomhouse.org.

You people keep saying government regulating disinformation leads to north Korea environment. You have no evidence, AND it directly contradicts my rl experience with the actual execution of this kind of law.

You can believe whatever you want, but I only believe what I've experienced. I think saying disinformation regulation law leads to north Korean government is jumping several steps ahead on bold assumptions before it even happens.
