Random Thoughts.....What are you thinking?

We distribute our wealth to billionaires, not the common people.
Rich people like Elon musk, Bill Gates or Trump won their money fair and square. They played the capitalism game and the market chose them as the winner.
Putin is rich too, and he got his money by being a ruler and his position aren't given by the market. Seems way less fair to me to get rich this way.
Everyone can participate in capitalism game but not everyone can be a dictator, and you die if you challenge a dictator if you want to have their position. I would rather play the capitalism game.

"Rape reported every hour in London"
London has a population of 8.8 million. NYC has a population of 8.2 million and there were 1455 reports, 4 per day. This is a lot lower than 24 per day (the equivalent of "one reported every hour")
You might want to sit this one out. it's the lack of gun violence, people cant vent out their anger in the american way over there
Londo gun crimes 2021 - 1071
new york city gun crimes 2021 - 7870

I think people were just fed up. It really dawned on me how incredible it was that they literally had every celebrity shill in their pocket, parroting the same talking points and reading from scripts. Jennifer Lopez, Oprah, Taylor Swift, Cardi B and so on and none of it helped them, none.
People are all just tired of the hand outs and getting beat down at every step, and if they say something they are labeled everything under the sun. People are so radical now they saved the debates for the polls. Growing up in the school systems here where everyone is indoctrinated to the left, once you start working on your own and having to deal with things like tax's and life, the ideals they have just seem like words. For me most changed after the pandemic and those riots, I think it took people another admin to see things aren't working with them.
I would bet those missing votes are just people who didn't like the choices and what it meant for the next 4 years. I couldn't imagine another 4 years with those policies continuing, seemed disastrous. Most people couldn't give two shits about overseas issues when they are struggling right now, most can't even point out where Ukraine is lol. The issue w immigration is also something that is so obvious to anyone and even worse now in states like NY. Rent at an all time high, groceries and monthly costs skyrocketing... yet they are handing out debit cards to anyone that crosses the invisible border. Free luxury hotels and hand outs while everyone else struggles, and this admin intended to continue everything as normal if she won.

Plus we already know that UK and Europe are really crap in that regard due to all of the IGNORING THE PROBLEM with regards to all of the gang rape and what not.
He posted dumb election meme, you went on the attack.

Context, dude. Afania tried to state that the US could not have been prosperous without democracy. Those countries are pretty clear indicators that you can be prosperous without democracy. I didn't tell you to pack your bags and move there.
How about this.....
Let's use examples that has more similarities region/culture wise, so oil and other factors don't play a role?
Like Democratic People's Republic of Korea v.s Republic Korea. People's republic of China v.s Republic of China. German Democratic Republic v.s Federal Republic of Germany. Democratic Republic of Vietnam v.s Republic of Vietnam.
Those are examples of people in the same region that walked a different "path" when it comes to making choices for social and economic system at one point of the history. And the one who chose America's system ended up being more prosperous when the war stopped.
(Though South Vietnam's economy tanked at one point because of war, I think they are overalls more prosperous.)
I think the examples above shows an explanation why people adore America's system so much, to the point that they are willing to sacrifice lives to ensure their future generation live under such system.
Europe is rich and Russia is poor, even before the war. It's 100% human nature to see the development of Europe and wanting to join them. Calling people wanting to join western bloc "brainwashed" or "puppet government" isn't really fair.
Most people couldn't give two shits about overseas issues when they are struggling right now, most can't even point out where Ukraine is lol.
I don't mind people choose money in their pocket over a foreigner's money in their pocket. It is 100% human nature.
But justifying such choices by calling people fighting for freedom and western system "brainwashed" or "puppet government" is another issue. It's not being "brainwashed" to want to have freedom on making choices.

I don't know if Nynja supports abortion, but I'm pretty sure the point of bringing that up was to show the fault of western government's loose takes on immigration and crime enforcement. Rape in London has gone up by over 50% in the last decade, and 400% since 1990. In the same time period, population has only risen by 12.7% and 43.4% respectively, so something about their current environment is causing a rape epidemic.

Hardly. If you also look at the numbers for alleged rape accusations that were then found to be false, the numbers will also show a similarly drastic increase.
It's a combination of far more reporting now than before along with false accusations pushing up numbers.

I can't say I'm that invested in London's rape rate, but the Victims' Commissioner of England and Wales seems to believe that it is more an issue of failure to follow-up and challenges in proceeding through the court process than false claims. It is important to distinguish between 'unproven' and 'false' in the context of a claim, as well. The nature of offenses like this being committed by foreigners without DNA on file can make it extremely difficult to prove some claims, but that does not mean they are false.
See:
https://victimscommissioner.org.uk/news/the-distressing-truth-is-that-if-you-are-raped-in-britain-today-your-chances-of-seeing-justice-are-slim/
or the official report at:

She also outright calls it an 'epidemic' when talking about violence against women and girls. Do you have a better source to state otherwise?
By Dodik 2024-11-07 08:14:13
I am sure you realise that politicians will say literally anything to sensationalise and rile up the section of people that are easily triggered by such sensationalist words like "rape epidemic".
There are a large number of accusations that have been proven to be false.
* https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-cumbria-64150026 - Girl alleged gang rape and assault by a group of men. Complete made up BS.
Quote: Some of the men she accused were arrested - one was charged and spent 10 weeks on remand in prison - all said their lives had been ruined by her baseless allegations.
* https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cwy9y8d0093o - Girl alleged rape by cab driver. Said driver lost his job and wife. It took 3 years for the police to drop charges against him and investigate the girl for perverting course of justice.
* https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-tyne-68636316 - Guy alleged rape by gang of men, falsely.
* https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-cambridgeshire-68828038 - Guy alleged rape multiple times over years.
* https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-derbyshire-58436404 - Girl alleged rape while on holiday and was convicted for making false claims instead.
* https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/newsbeat-21016808 - Article from 2013 indicates two people a month were falsely accused of rape at the time.
As you say, these are just the cases that were found to be false rather than lack of evidence for a conviction.

You've linked 6 cases, and you've gone back as far as 2013. In that time period, there would have been well over 200,000 cases. I do not think that you can use anecdotes to justify a position like this, you would need studies of larger size.

I don't have statistics at hand, nor will I go find them. I certainly see a lot more stories about false accusations than the "rape epidemic" number of rapes politicians cry about.
Other than the article from 2013 with statistics, the others are from 2021-24.

Define cheating.
Just remember that the dice are loaded, the cards are marked and the wheel is rigged but there is no penalty for cheating.
Other people winning more money in this game doesn't make me a loser.
I can name a lot of people that is richer than me. I don't become more poor because of them.
If a company makes insanely good money I buy their stocks and make money with them. They winning the capitalism game doesn't make me poor, I got a piece of pie from them and that's good enough for me to live comfortably. So I give zero *** about capitalists make money.
In the past 3-4 years our stock market increased by more than 100%, on average people who entered the market doubled their wealth in just a few years. That's like more than half of the population. Who cares if big company makes money really? It doesn't make us poor, it makes everyone who participated rich.....at least rich enough to have a good enough of life. The poverty rate reached all time low at 1%. Our pension and healthcare system gets money from those stocks too.
Again, thanks to those big company's stock market money and their tax. I have no idea why people likes to criticize big companies so much when they are usually the backbone of economic growth.
The billions (I think) of dollars that entered economy for this election for campaign. That is already benefiting more people than you think.

If you really support abortion for that reason, just don't put it into federal law. I support womens right to choose, but I also think there should be term limits. Who knowingly carries a baby for 7-8-9 months then decides "nah changed my mind, dont want it"? If someones gonna say "health reasons", then health reasons are still valid reasons to have an abortion even in states that outlaw it, is it not?
Also Trump has said multiple times that he would not outlaw abortion at a federal level, that its to remain a state thing. But I guess politicians lie all the time, ie:
Two-Tier Kier campaigning on how he would eliminate tuition fees, and instead raised them.
***, there I go attacking with facts again.
Anyways, after 13 months of waging war with Israel and rejecting every ceasefire, Hamas all of a sudden wants to talk ceasefire
https://www.reuters.com/world/middle-east/palestinians-dismayed-by-trumps-win-their-leaders-urge-peace-2024-11-06/
The Ukraine-Russia war may also be in process of winding down, but that one seems less believable and may wind up in a stalemate.
Trumps not even sworn in and were already seeing the winds of change on the war-front.

A classic way to cheat is "I have better lawyers on retainer than you can afford to rent. Sue me." It is one of Trump's favorite tactics.
Bill Gates sold PC DOS to IBM and then bought it from Seattle Computer. Copyright violation followed by sue me so I can drive you into bankruptcy and buy you for pennies on the dollar was his standard operating procedure during the DOS days.
Elon Musk wildly exaggerated the range for his Teslas, then gave prizes to customer support staff for who could hang up on complaining customers the fastest.
Other people winning more money in this game doesn't make me a loser. The majority of the fabulous wealthy play capitalism as a zero sum game. For them every dollar you are poorer is the same as them being one dollar richer. As they have won the game I would say that they are correct and you are not.

I am not sure I follow this, are you claiming Gary Kildall claimed the copyright violation, or who exactly was going to sue who? also Microsoft bought 86-DOS (QDOS) from SCP then sells PC-DOS to IBM
At anyrate:

Impressive how those open source stuff dies in relatively short time, leaving many projects that used that with a huge problem in hands.
Thats a good lesson ive just learned, to NOT import stuffs to solve every small thing.
The goal should be using the bare minimum possible of external dependencies, and only those from well established projects, preferably backed up by a big tech.
Now im thinking maybe those open source talk arent more than just utopia

This is a thread that I found on another website I post at. It can be really really interesting. I thought it deserved a place here.
Post your random thoughts for the day here, or anything else that intrigues you.
For starters, is it possible to give constructive critism to someone who doesn't have a neck? I totally just walked by a girl who didn't. Someone isn't getting a necklace for Valentines day!
And who decided black and white can't be colors? I want to say a racist. I really do.
