Yesterday I enrolled in my third college. I've decided to learn Sound Design now.

It is an online course, pretty short, only 2 years.

I hope I can be able to read music sheets, and with that write my own.

I'm not looking for playing any instrument in particular. I always liked electronic music, so this is my final goal: write and play electronic musica. No vocal. No real instrument, because I'm not willing to also learn and refine this type of skill.

Why do you want to learn that instead of prompting it?

Because there are some things I genuinely think AI doesnt have a place on it.

I consider any form of art as a form of cmmunication, expression, and human communication only make sense if there is made by and for a human. Machine really have no place on it.

At my work, for two years they compounded a frigging company rap made by AI, and that just hurt me on a physical level.

I wouldnt be against if the message was written by a human and just the execution delegated to AI. But the point is: how can you communicate songs to AI? Then it is back the only way to effectively communicate sounds is through music sheet, and back to my original objective.

So no XXX-ito.

You wont get a bite of me on this one.

I had to look that toothbrush up to see if it's real.

I was really let down when I found out that Dyson's "bladless fan" for like $650 had blades, they were just internal. I thought I was witnessing some sort of future magic.

They're just not fan fans

Sometimes double that, sometimes $20, vast array

Newer ones that're in laptops and phones that move mere millimeters

I'm worried those piezo fans create high pitched noise that humans can't hear but drive animals like dogs nuts.

Dogs are not exactly quiet about noises. So. We'd know.

I remember back then when I first heard about piezoelectric material.

I was close to finish my first college, and the very last subject was to the graduation project.

I talked to the most easygoing teacher to give me a subject.

He mentioned something about piezoelectric and generating electric energy.

Then my thesis was if it was viable to use piezelectric materials with wind turbine to generate electric energy.

I grabbed some equations, added all of them in some simulation program, then it spitted a estimation about the energy generated.

I dont remmmber the numbers, but it ended with a terrible energy generation over time ratio. But I concluded saying while not viable at that time, it was a clean energy, maybe in the future it could be more interesting.

This was back in 2011.

Silo is great. They're turning 10 books into 4 seasons. They're not screwing around.

They even removed the entirety of the 7th(?) book and made it into a 5 minute exposition dump.
(Mission's journal was an entire novela, if youre a watcher)

Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. Sometimes they drag a show into 15 seasons of dogshit, sometimes they cancel a good show on season 2.

Highly recommend Silo, mentioned it before. I had never read the books, the show is great.

It's a good thing they're shortening Silo or it would drag on too much.

Just the waits between seasons suck.

The waits are why I read the books.

Season 1 was 2023, I did not want to wait until 2030 to know how that ***ended assuming it was going 5+ seasons. Immediately bought the books even before it ended.
