Just download RPG Maker VX Ace, instead. I've found a script that let you change classes while having different levels for each class and a script that lets you have a sub-class, so you could make a single player FFXI. :O
Then if you get bored of it, you can just make another kind of RPG to play. :I
Sorry for being a *** and shooting down your good idea Leon. :x
I'm off to bed. x.x Should have probably fallen asleep forever ago.
Pfft, you weren't a ***. :I
Sleep well~
And considering the fact that I currently have no idea what to do with my own game, I'm going to take my own advice and make an RPG Maker game in Vana'diel to get a feel for all this scripting business. :O

I'll post it here if I get anywhere with it, but I'm having a hard time converting the jobs from their multiplayer roles to standard RPG roles, while still keeping them similar enough to the original.
Meanwhile, on the flipside, I've got plenty of ideas of what I want to do with my original game after looking through all these scripts, so I'll hop between working on that and FFXI Offline.
It's only taken several months, but I've finally gotten around to writing up a list of the job classes available in my comic (and by extension the game I'm now working on).
As usual with my stuff (that never gets finished lulz), it's open to everyone; if you want a character in the game, post or PM me with a physical description of the character, a description of their personality, and what class you want them to be.
Also state whether you'd like them to be a guest party member or enemy (either on the villains side, or in the arena).
Classes are listed by base class; advanced classes can be found under their base classes marked with -.
I want a character in your game, and I want him to be like a dungeon boss or whatever, but... I have no idea what his name would be. Or his personality, etc.

Scruffy, dungeon janitor... he's got a pet minion named mop bucket.
And his main problem with the protagonists: while they were exploring the dungeon and fighting random mobs, they scuff up the floors and get blood on the walls. This of course angers him to no end.

Would you be okay with him being a ghost in a ruined castle? :O
Just so his behaviour makes a little more sense and stuff. :I

Mag I want you to write a story about a washed up hero. He is older and has body is beaten and worn out. He now can no longer fight and to pay bills he spends his day as an angry and bitter janitor.

Scruffy The Janitor
HP: ???? (Base: 25k)
MP: ???? (Base 15k)
Moves: Mop, Scrub, Zero-G Jugs
Special Abilities: Janitorial Rage - for every monster in The Scruffy Dungeon that is slain, Scruffy The Janitor gains 10% more HP and MP and his moves become exponentially stronger.

Hmmm... Is that a little overpowered, maybe? Wait... no. No, that's perfect. Maybe his attack power could be a little slow so it'll give people a chance to have a marathon fight with the guy.

Ah yeah ... let me see... I guess could tack on that with every monster slain, the Janitorial Rage Special ability also makes Scruffy lose 5% attack speed? (or maybe lower... ?)
This is a thread that I found on another website I post at. It can be really really interesting. I thought it deserved a place here.
Post your random thoughts for the day here, or anything else that intrigues you.
For starters, is it possible to give constructive critism to someone who doesn't have a neck? I totally just walked by a girl who didn't. Someone isn't getting a necklace for Valentines day!
And who decided black and white can't be colors? I want to say a racist. I really do.
