So how lond did u train, what was your process, how did u learn to control your breeathing so well, and how did your knees take to the brutal ness of a marathon?
it is for supermen and i cannot even conceive of it being possible
Like wise, I can do sub 7 minute miles for maybe a little bit, like 4 miles or so at most before slowing down gradually, but an entire 26.2, daaamn. Although for the Kenyans and ethiopians that's cake. The person who won the LA Marathon finished in 2:08:34 D:

I only trained for a month. I run regularly just for fun, but the most I had ever run at once was 6 miles. Then one night, I planned on doing 4 and ended up doing 10, which got me all pumped up to try a half marathon, but the LA Half had just passed, so I signed up for the full lol. Training was pretty straight forward, I'd do two short runs a week, like 6-7 miles, and then on Sunday mornings I'd do my long training runs, starting with 10, then 15 the next week, and 20 the week before the marathon. I get horrible shin splints, so that was killing me even at mile 13.

Lol I know, he's going through the hardest decision of his life. 5 minutes off your finishing time+Running with a *** for a mile or so for a free lap dance...hmmmm.
I started running in 11th grade just cause I was a fatty and was borderline diabetic. Like two years ago when I started college is when it became an actual hobby, but nothing ever serious like track or cross country, just for fun.
Running is one of the best ways to relieve stress.
i think it depends >.>
every second of running past the first minute is misery for me >.>
and then i dread knowing i've gotta do it, so it ends up causing stress
You're like all muscle though Sev >.> With a lot of cardio work I'd bet you could be a good distance runner as opposed to someone who's carrying more weight in fat .-.
Someone I know was complaining about FFXI (borderline quitting) before the servers went down from the earthquake in Japan, that person then started complaining about not having the game, and it hasn't even been a week since services were reinstated and they're already complaining again.

i'm like 90% sure that muscle is harder on you cardiovascularly than fat is
being extremely heavy and muscular actually carries many of the same risks as being heavy and obese :o
but even when i wrestled 119 throughout highschool, i was a very capable runner, but still hated every second of it

^ I don't find it stress relieving at all =/ I think alot of it is its very brutal on my knees and I have yet to condition my breathing so I don't feel like I am going to pass out and die D: I am switching to biking as it is supposedly better on the knees etc =/
how did you learn to breathe properly through the running (do u recite a song in ur head, count, or am i just stupid :P)

i generally try to pace it to the song i'm listening to, but i have asthma, and i always lose control of my breathing by the end of the run

Yeah my old personal trainer was like 5'8" 260 almost pure muscle guy was huge.. and one day he decided he wanted to run a marathon and it seemed like a month later guy had dropped like 60 or 70 pounds in training for it. Dude was cool but I could never get into working out as much as him he had like 8 different gym memberships and said it was his hobby to work out at different gyms.
I don't think* I have any kind of breathing issues , however i was a long time smoker that quit last year :D .. I am positive that has something to do with it =/

yeah distance running and bulking are diametrically opposed :(
This is a thread that I found on another website I post at. It can be really really interesting. I thought it deserved a place here.
Post your random thoughts for the day here, or anything else that intrigues you.
For starters, is it possible to give constructive critism to someone who doesn't have a neck? I totally just walked by a girl who didn't. Someone isn't getting a necklace for Valentines day!
And who decided black and white can't be colors? I want to say a racist. I really do.
