Crafting question. Have a friend whose max out clothcraft with maxed out subs and the shield. We were trying to craft the white mage club for a friend and he keeps getting the message that his skill isn't high enough to synth it. We have the correct mats and everything else just stumped as to why this isnt working. Any clues would be helpful thank you!

I was wondering: given how all % stats in game are in /1024 and not actually /100, doesn't that mean you might actually need ~51% more than exactely 50% to cap DT/PDT/MDT?
Has anyone ever bothered to test? I don't remember tests about this stat in particular.

He has the fully completed shield and he said he had the aurum tome KI. he said it was just saying his skill wasn't high enough to do the synth. how high are the sub craft levels for su5 weapons?

If I understood correctly, the formula for dt directly uses the percentage against the damage done to you. No binary there it seems.
The easiest way to test would be with MDT.
The same unresisted magic spell should always do the same damage, so try with 0 then 5 mdt.
The result with 5 mdt should be a straight Damage-(damage x 0.05)
If not, the result will be Damage-(damage x 0.048)
(50/1024)

He's gonna have to submit a bug, because if he's 110/70/70 with eschuteon then it's a legit bug. The subs aren't 70 (apparently)

(50/1024) naw if you've ever done any dt testing you'll see it's weird too. 1000 needles is great way to see it. Like check out the stout servant everything is reported in x/256. iirc only casting speed/recast time use percentages and even then not always on recast.
Anyways to when it comes to the weird amounts we get it's kind of hard to say. Very little DT has been documented as well .5% dt makes little difference. Most the in depth testing on that for multiple items was haste and from what we saw the variance from true percent wasn't always the same. Sometimes it was bigger and sometimes you actually got a tiny bit more. But yeah sure get 51% to be 100% sure if you really care about it though again it's effects will be really small to non existent

Rajang did some testing not too long ago and he ended up needing 52% to cap

This is very easy to test with PDT gear against 1000 needles. Just try with some values like 50, 51, 52 PDT without stoneskin or phalanx.

The problem is though the older gear is less than whole percents but the newer gear is sometimes exact. Don't know if that holds true for DT.
But like 5% haste on old gear isn't 1:1 5% haste on 119 / Dring is 9.9 but vocane is actually 7 (or something to that effect)
By Foxfire 2018-11-27 19:06:13
vocane+1 is 20/256. (~7.81)

Something in the new gear is solid 1:1 what it states, is it only ilvl visible gear?
I remember someone saying you don't need 26% haste anymore with new gear, don't really remember the context though.
IE: Herc DT2 is actually 2 etc?

Hey guys, I remember reading somewhere a while ago that FFXI doesn't run as well on some of the newer high end video cards? From what I remember the reasons were since it's such a old game, some of the newer cards don't support graphic stuff that old anymore, or something like that. I don't know
Anyway, Is this true at all? I don't know too much about computers, but just wanted to make sure since I might be getting a new computer/graphics card soon
Yes, at least I know you don't need anything too fancy/good at all to run FFXI, I just don't want to /toss more money at a card/comp, and it end up running the game worse than something cheaper and more basic
Thanks in advance for your time

I guess I'll also ask:
What are the minimum requirements to run the game in all max settings, with all of the HD graphic dat mods, and the 60 fps add on etc

So I play with max settings on an ASUS X750JB laptop with an nvidia 740m 2gb, 500gb ssd, core i7 2.4ghz, 4gb ram, windows 10 64bit.
I am using reshader and all of the hd mods using Ashita dat swapper plugin. It runs good enough, but sort of hot. Fan is always spinning. I believe i have seen some comments around of people using 1080gtx nvidia just fine
I believe there might be some videos on youtube for the hd videos where people put their pc specs in the comments

Amelia as well as Atm0s have downloads for a dll file that converts direct 8 to direct 9 in order to gain access to the power in newer graphics cards

Hi.
Looking for some extra information to optimize exp/cp gains while cleaving.
The questions are: 1. How many kills are necessary to cap the chain bonus? 2. Whats the bonus cap given to both exp and cp?
As i always have a char afking while i make pulls, wondering of its worth the trouble making him kill any fodder while i do the pulls just to maintain the chain, or if thats not worth the extra trouble.
EDIT: extra question would be if anyone knows whats the penalty for every extra party member over the 6th in zones like reisen/escha or gates.
Thanks in advance

It depends onthe gear and what way it rounds
It was never a 26% in gear to hit 25% cap, but a matter of rounding
if you got 25% haste in one pieces gear even back in the days it Would have cap'ed because 25% is perfectly describable in /256 or /1024
aka 64/256 and 256/1024
The problem was people that didn't understand simple rounding issues took the 26% as some kind of gospels without understanding the underlying mechanics.

9.9 makes just as little sense as 10% neither can be described i in /1024
So it probably not 9.9%
It either
102/1024 = 9.9609375%
or
103 /1024 = 10.05859375%
Probably the first one
vocan is probably
71/1024 = 6.93359375%
or
72/1024= 7.03125%
according to foxfire its
80/1024 = 7.8125
also know as 20/256 = 7.8125
that alot extra consideirng that
19/256 = 7.421875
18/256 = 7.03125
17/256 = 6.640625
so either they are using a less bits division or they where just generous with that ring
Its was vocane +1 (8%), and i did my math on vocane NQ (7%)
Do we know for sure if DT is using 8 bits (/256) or 10bits (/1024) bitshift for divisions

he said +1, which is 8 dt
very few pieces, even newer pieces, are the actual %.. because most %s cannot be expressed in /1024

While a few have answered on this already, the newer gear does still follow a divided by formula. I had actually made a post about this in the DRK OP and the newer gear does actually match the description. (PDT/MDT/BT/DT on newer gear actually goes over the description but it's only by a few decimal points, so unless it's in the thousands of damage range you won't notice)

Mind you, I was testing DT+ gear for Scarlet Delirium on DRK where you can already reach 6~10K HP so... every decimal point counts?

Anyone know why I'm getting an error trying to use 1000 needles in Monstrosity? I recall some addon interfering with monstrosity but I don't remember which one.

What kind of error?

shortcut maybe? it thinking you are casting the blu spell or bst pet ability
