Generally inferior choice unless your hitrate is severely hurting.

The 3% DA, and the 3% TA from the set bonus of toci's will outweigh the 7 attack that tessera offers. Also if you're not acc capped then toci's will pull farther ahead because of the 10 accuracy.

After the pickup of a couple of pieces, I'm kind of stuck on what would be an optimal CDC set.
I have access to a few different sets and various pieces that can change but I am not sure what would give me consistently the best damage.
For reference, I am using Rancor Collar/Atheling Mantle
Good mix of crit rate/attack/dex/str?
or
All out dex with crit rate where possible?
or
All out crit rate?
or
Basically I have access to
Head: Ocelomeh, Thaumas
Body: Loki's only unfortunately...unless I buy an Ocelomeh which others on here have advised NOT to do.
Hands: Kacura +1/Thaumas
Legs: Athos's/Thaumas
Feet: Kacura +1/Thaumas
EDIT: Or I could even do 4/5 Thaumas + Loki's.
As always, thanks for the tips.

Prob bottom set but with athos body and hands and either thaumas or hq head. Wouldnt see the point in using athos pants over say tumblers unless you're gaining a set bonus from doing so.
Until then just use 4/5 thaumas and lokis.

I figured the 4% increase in crit damage was better than anything else for Athos's Tights...even if I don't get the set bonus but I'll give it a try and see if I notice any differences.

In dynamis, by shifting a few spells around (Occultation->Cursed Sphere) and dropping Regeneration, I was able to set Osmosis which is amazingly fun. Osmosis is more or less a better heal than Regeneration for similar MP since you'd be using it with Anrin Obi and Double Dark Weather. You can do all kinds of crazy things like MB it off a dark skillchain netting you 580+ HP and stealing a buff. I usually solo Bubu and fight Scorps/Dhalmels and taking a Sharp Strike(Attack+50% for 5 minutes with no defense down) is amazingly fun.

That's a pretty good idea, hadn't thought of using Osmosis. At the very least, you could replace Magic Fruit with Osmosis (if you set it for some reason) rather easily.

#1
Delta Thrust
Heavy Strike
Empty Thrash
Sudden Lunge
Amorphic Spikes
Animating Wail
Battery Charge
Osmosis
Cocoon
Dream Flower
Asuran Claws
Dark Orb
Charged Whisker
Everyone's Grudge
Zephyr Mantle
Chaotic Eye
Fantod
Sound Blast
Plasma Charge
Actinic Burst
#2
Delta Thrust
Heavy Strike
Empty Thrash
Sudden Lunge
Amorphic Spikes
Whirl of Rage
Benthic Typhoon
Animating Wail
Battery Charge
Osmosis
Cocoon
Dream Flower
Charged Whisker
Everyone's Grudge
Zephyr Mantle
Chaotic Eye
Fantod
Sound Blast
Plasma Charge
Actinic Burst
Off the top of my head, second set can probably be played with some more. Osmosis would replace Magic Fruit for sure since it's certainly more efficient than that by a pretty significant margin (Sanguine Blade already does, but this would, presumably, allow you to use your TP more effectively, more often, while not costing an arm and a leg in MP).
Counter's iffy if you aren't pulling multiple mobs/not getting links, but then so is Benthic+Whirl.

I keep hearing rumours about a plugin allowing blu spells changing by macro, is there such a thing?
By Ophannus 2012-08-09 18:29:10
Osmosis is a 90s recast so not sure if it can replace fruit.
My setup for dyna is:
Zephyr Mantle
Amorphic Spikes
Heavy Strike
Empty Thrash
Delta Thrust
Chaotic Eye
Sudden Lunge
Dream Flower
Actinic Burst
Winds of Promyvion
Magic Fruit
Animated Wail
Battery Charge
Fantod
Osmosis
Charged Whisker
Sound Blast
Everyone's Grudge
Cursed Sphere
Gives me:
Double Attack
Treasure Hunter
Magic Attack Bonus
Conserve MP
Store TP
Skillchain Bonus(Unintentional)
Auto Refresh
Osmosis is nice for taking buffs aka Berserk/Sharp Strike/Water Wall. I don't bother with Occultation, unnecessary waste of MP when I have Stagger/Sudden Lunge/Flash/Delta Thrust to inhibit mobs. MAB is good with Anrin Obi for Sanguine. I have tons of tools to stay alive, Magic Fruit or Efflux+Bloodrake, Sanguine Blade when necessary or SC+MB+Osmosis for like 600+. I like Winds>Plasma because its less points and sometimes I don't want to waste TP on Healing Waltz, though Plasma has better stat points.

You shouldn't be using fruit to begin with

I'm honestly not sure it was ever good, but I never ran numbers on the multiattack family at 75 cap and that was a very different era gear- and traits-wise. Don't remember when I first compared them, but even without digging for my old posts I can say that STR sword has certainly been the superior overall choice since no later than 90 cap. Even then it was the DA sword that was competitive, not the OAT.

I did, btw thank you for the great guide, it's why I asked about the OAT.He is adamant that the OAT is better, I felt differently based on your guide. Thanks again.

Fruit does come in handy for when ***gets out of hand especially on DCs, Rabbit Kick and Critical Bite hurt. I guess I can use Sanguine Blade more, but I love Aftermath :(
Also guess it doesn't help that I don't have a hybrid evasion build yet, haven't gotten around to getting ocelot/torero again, and need to make wind shikargar still. Is the hybrid evasion build even worth it since I'll lose out on a crapload of STR/Crit%/DA/Attack and possibly haste?

Shouldn't be losing out on haste in a hybrid set these days unless you're lacking Thaumas and Athos gear. Ocelomeh Headpiece +1 and 4/5 Thaumas hits 26% with Phasmida Belt, Oce +1 with a non-haste body, Thaumas hands/legs, Athos's Boots, and Phasmida is 25% or Twilight for 26%. Losses aren't as bad as you might expect and you don't really need to wear it a lot of the time with Sudden Lunge.

It's modified by Blue Magic Skill only, so nawp, wouldn't have much effect. Haste/fast cast gear for recast in slots that don't have weather/day/skill gear.

Considering I don't have access, and probably won't ever at this point, to neo-nyzul gear ( :/ ), my BLU tp set being:
Almace/Str-atk - Mantis
Oce +1/Portus Collar/Brutal/Suppa
Toci/Alucinor Mitts/Epona's/Rajas
Atheling/Twilight/XXX/XXX
What should I wear as legs/feet? Would Athos Athos and staying at 25 haste be better than Mavi+2 and Enif Gambieras putting me at true haste cap? I'm also considering Full Enif set... Wonder if it would be better than toci+oce head.
Thanks.

Definitely make sure to have AF3 hands and haste gear in all slots lacking bluskill gear(prefer af3 hands to symbios due to 15% recast recuction) also in dynamis use Anrin Obi/Twilight Cape on Osmosis. It does 500ish easy, over 600-700 if you MB it off a SC

Fasho, I dont think there is much that would live from a darkness SC though that i normally farm for currency (EP or DC) unless I miss hits or something.
By Ophannus 2012-08-13 17:26:56
Well I typically try my luck in Bubu on the NMs between running between camps, sometimes get lucky on 100 pieces so that SC+MB comes in handy against em, especially on the ones that are hard to proc like like blabbermouth.
By Ronoclem 2012-08-13 21:49:31
I'm loving Ophannus's tip about using Osmosis. It's not good of emergency healing cause of cast and recast times but its good for toping-up HP and buff stealing is fun! I go out of my way to get shell and protect off a whm beastman now.
