As has been mentioned repeatedly, the low haste and low defensive stats do have a negative impact, but how severe that impact is will vary based on what you're doing and your playstyle.
I dont see these negative impacts ppl are mentioning, this set works just fine for stuff like cleave parties or straight nuking stuff in escha or vagary, the loss of haste isnt a killer (at least for me).
Places i use blu cleave: reisenjima flux 5, friends stay at the bridge while i kill mosquitos, frogs and beetles, as blu/rdm it is almost impossible to die here just keeping aquaveil, occultation and barrier tusk, unlimited MP with hipos at day and beetles at night and you can net 100+ JPs easy here either solo or for your friends (they ca nstay at the bridge and get full CP from all sides).
Vagary: again like the last mention i said, if you go blu/rdm its very rare to die here unless your party gets a sleepga and yo usuddenly get zerged by 10 elementals and even then, just swap to your dt set and subduction > put distance > heal/buff and kill.
For me this set just adds some more macc to my debuffs and more power of course for nukes, the only downside i see is the lack of haste and its a minor one really, if u keep yourself hasted with erratic + MG, the recast will be very low anyway.
No! That portal 5 mosquito/beetle camp in plain sight of everyone was supposed to be a secret! YOU'VE OPENED IT UP TO EVERYONE! lol
In all seriousness, I NEVER had to do apex on BLU, because I was hardcore cleaving myself (and other friends) silt and CP at that camp. I capped out during that CP/EXP campaign that was around when Job Point Mastery came out. Don't have to rely on other people is why I liked it.

Lol yea its not a secret, im only pointing out where i was doing the CPs and helping any1 that didnt know the place, you wont believe how many ppl are still using escha-zitah for cleaving lol.
Fiat Lux was a Campaign Ops vs the Shadow Lord, you can only do it if the nations control the castle. You need Medal of Altana §§§§ to do it. During the campaign it should be available and extra loot will be added to the pool.

Unfortunately, the default requirements still apply during the campaign. You may never get to do it if no one cares enough to capture those areas. It is not only the both parts of the castle, but Beaucedine Glacier and Xarcabard as well.
What he means is people usually make an effort to make it available during the campaign. I have yet to be witness to a campaign period where it was unavailable for the duration.
1.) I don't have CDC. What is my go-to WS? Savage Blade seems to out-do Requiescat all the time despite having 5/5 merits. Or should I be going for Expiacion?
2.) Considering the above, what should my Sap augment be on Rosmerta's? I currently have attk/acc+20 and dex+20 from dusts/threads. Eventually going for the additional +10 accuracy from dyes, but I am not sure if I should go for crit rate on sap if CDC isn't the WS I am using. I am thinking dual wield or double attack? Maybe WS damage+? The OP says Store TP+ should be the option but I think that is strictly for Tizona/Almace users unless I am mistaken?
3.) Can I get by on a Claidheamh/Eminent or Claidheamh/Xiuleato combination until Escha weapons or is it worth the effort to get the Buramenk'ah as a stepping stone?

Thanks as always :D
I would think Vorpal Blade is a viable replacement for CDC for the time being when used with 1500~ TP or less. When your TP starts getting around 2000+, switch to Savage.
It's a prettty strong WS, solid STR Mod, Rolling fTP and Crit WS. Not as strong as CDC and not as SC friendly but definitely don't sleep on Vorpal for damage.
Look at your server prices and think about how good you are at making monies, while keeping in mind that they tend to go down during certain campaigns as well as right before a monthly update. This isn't really a question that can be answered by other people.
Riftcinders vs boulders isn't even a contest (obviously the riftboulders are easier). Almace isn't even worth using without the afterglow stage, so be sure to consider that when thinking about how long it will take you.
Regarding acquiring CDC, I was kind of planning on going for an Almace ANYWAY, so I think time would be better invested there.
How bad is the Almace grind from 90 to 99(119) these days?
And is it worth afterglowing your 99 Almace? What's the lesser of two evils.... 3,000 riftcinder or 10,000 riftborn boulders?
1) Almace isn't even worth it without being afterglowed (tan+1/colada) is > almace 119/ colada (at least for me per the dps spreadsheet). Get that 119-2 with afterglow and it jumps WAY ahead. I'm talking about a 23% increase in dps jump, it's that big of a difference.
2) boulders are easier, and it's not even close. This is due to the price. You can buy 10k boulders for around 75M (ish) due to them hovering around 750k a stack depending on AH fluctuations. 3k Rifcinders would cost you 3x that price, if not more.
3k cinders would cost much more than only 3x boulders' price. On Sylph, the server where they are cheapest (500k each), it would be 1.5 billion gil. A 20x increase.

Cinders and Boulders aren't even the difficult part of making an Empyrean, Heavy metal plates are a *** to get.
Question as a fledgeling BLU working on gear upgrades:
I've been using a Cornflower Cape with +15 Blue Magic Skill for a long time, in ocnjunction with a D path Iris, to get my Blue Magic up near cap, which I am given to understand is 500.
I'm looking at moving to double B path Nibiru Cudgels and a INT/MAB-oriented JSE cape, but I'm concerned about the 45 Blue Magic Skill I'm going to lose in doing so. My question is, how important is Blue Magic Skill, and is it okay to make sacrifices against it if the MAB/INT/matt bonuses are steep enough? I'm just not seeing where else I can make up for the loss, as even if I had all of my JPs, it wouldn't get me anywhere close to back to 500.
Assuming you're talking about making adjustments to your nuking set, Blue Magic skill doesn't play a role in magic damage outside of magic accuracy. Blue Magic skill is only used in calculating:
- Magic accuracy
- Potency of certain defensive spells such as Magic Barrier, Diamondhide and Occultation
- Potency of drain spells such as Blood Saber and Atra. Libations
- Damage of physical blue magic spells
- Spell interruption rate
There also is no known "cap" on the effect blue magic skill has on the above uses; simply tiers. Again, if the topic at hand is for your nuke set (same to assume it is), I would definitely make at least the Nibiru Cudgel swap, but personally I can't bring myself to care enough about an INT/MAB cape since Cornflower is pretty good as is. If you have no other jobs that could benefit more from an Ambuscade cape, though, go for it.
Pretty sure around 1400 is the magic number, but I can't be positive. I'm always on RUN for our VD runs so I'm just relying on what my DDs tell me.
1400 should be enough for the adds but it seems that the main NM has much more evasion. I had around 80% hitrate with 1480 acc. Not sure if there were any evasion debuffs up.
I had about 85% accuracy with 1358 (gear+food), and I think one GEO (w/ Idris) used Torpor or Precision (maybe both, and maybe bolstered). There wasn't a WHM so no Boost-DEX. I'll have to double check with the GEO, although I'm 80% sure it was Bolstered Torpor.
EDIT: Although that accuracy number includes the adds so I'll have to check my accuracy after the main NM next time. I also had to heal the party, so I definitely had way more samples for the adds. Hopefully next time I do it I won't have to heal so I can get a better number.
I just got back and I need to guide my progress on BLU. I have all post-delve2 spells to collect.
I have a couple simple questions:
- Is there any go-to WS and/or SC? I'm using an Uson, got all WS unlocked (Req is only 1/5 though).
- What spells do you use for cleaving?
Spells for traits are up-to-date in the guide (thanks Prothescar), so at least I have an idea the bare minimum to aim for. I'd love to know where to start though by having those questions answered.
Cleaving - Subduction and Sprectral floe are bread and butter 99% of the time.
Get entomb, anvil lightning, tenebral crush if you dont have them already.
WS's use CDC, Epxiacion, savage blade, vorpal.
The Zahak Reborn on first page of guide spellset is still up to date.
gear wise get any adhemar Abjurations and herculean armor drops.
Is there a good BLU Gearswap(preferably with Mote-includes since all of my current ones use them) that I could use as a blueprint to build one for my BLU? ;x
