I haven't farmed Omen on BLU in ages -ages- and yes, runs used to last ~15 mins, but no way my Carcharian Verve lasted that much, it was disappearing way way earlier.

Wonder what is the key difference in our gear :-D

This. I recast CV once when the cooldown is ready or it will wear off at the worst time.

the extra evasion of malignance probably helps but i still see it wearing way earlier when i'm cleaving in reisenjima for example. for omen cleaving i cast a diffusioned CV right befor i enter and buy a super revit from gobby to reset diffusion and UL timers. can't recall if i've seen cacharian aquaveil wear in omen ever since i got malignance but tbh i play it save in there as in i pull just a part of the mobs, sleep them and then grab the rest instead of trying to upll all at once.

i'd like to see the aquaveil set, only piece that comes to mind is amalric coif +1 for 2+ aquaveil, i use it for cacharian verve but don't know if it benefits it in any way.

Midcast in Malignance and full evasion. I do Omen on THF tho, so it's just a guess. But you can watch Mischief video of cruel joking Odyssey C and I think his Verve lasted whole run and he pulled like 20-30 mobs 6-7 times using evasion (with Mambos ofc but Omen mobs require less evasion to cap).

Once I got TH4 in gear, I just swapped to /RDM and used Aquaveil and Mighty Guard instead. I recast Aquaveil after every pull (two families at a time). BLU can get Aquaveil up to 7 interrupts and CV is only 10 interrupts so I figure it's better to just use Mighty Guard. I definitely have a Dream Flower toggle for DT as well, it just seems like a good idea.

He means he used all interruption charges much faster.

Yeah it's what happened to me, disappearing when you just pulled 2 or 3 groups and dying there lol

Well technically Phalanx has no direct influence on spell interrupt, but I guess lower damage has lower chance to interrupt so maybe there's an indirect correlation?
I have 32-34 Phalanx, depending on wether I'm currently locking my MH/OH or not (can get 21 skill in those two slots)

I had no malignance gear last time I did Omen farming, for sure. And my only issue was Dream Flower getting interrupted. If I get dream flower on everything dies in a couple of spells.
I know some people use SIRD on their Dream Flower, I didn't have enough SIRD gear back then and Dream Flower is the spell through which I apply TH4

I can report the sets I used back then though.

I was going around, pulling monsters in my idle set, then stopping to cast dream flower, then slaughtering them with the other spells.
When I started this I wasn't JP capped and I didn't have very good gear, took me 3+ spells to kill them.
Now they probably would all die (except the transcended) with a JA enhanced Spectral Floe xD

i frequently get 1-2 mobs that resist sleep in omen and odyssey so i'm surprised ppl cast in TH or SIRD sets.

That’s odd, Malignance has plenty of Macc and the Macc I lose from sleeping in my TH set doesn’t stop me from landing sleep on everyone. Maybe double-check your Macc set or you’re just remembering the resists and it’s not actually as common as you thought.

my sets swap fine, if macc caps at 95% like acc does then maybe the last 5% explain the occasional resists in omen.

Yeah, the occasional resist. I guess I misinterpreted your post as meaning you got 1-2 resists per pull.

I farm Omen near daily, and I don’t remember the last time I ever saw a resist from Dream Flower, not including pixies of course.

I pull multiple mobs at once and there’s no way I’m not recasting CV, and that’s with 4/5 Malignance and Carmine legs.

@sechs

its more alot of the hits just hit for 0

210skill/10 -2 = 19 + 33 = 52 phalanx (tho if i can trick king of hearts to cast it on me >.>)

throw on top how stupid gletis def is (i use helm body and gloves, because i only ever got feet and legs malig) over 2k def after cocoon but before protect, also its vit isnt low as well

also iirc the amount of dmg taken on a hit influences if you get interrupted or not

I don't think this is true. I get hit for 1s and 3s on RUN and get interrupted all the time.

Base interruption rate is determined by a comparison between the mob's level (or a hidden "combat skill" stat that depends on level) and the skill of the magic you're casting; actual damage has no influence (assuming it doesn't do 0, of course).

Are you sure? I never, ever, ever, ever had a monster resist my sleep, unless I was running so fast with a huge train that a monster was lagging behind and was outside of range.
Aside from situations like that it never occurred to me and when I started doing Omen farming on BLU my gear wasn't really that good either.

I'm really surprised you're getting resisted with Dream Flower honestly.

Did you mean Pixies maybe? They resist Dark based Sleeps such as Dream Flower. They are the only monster where I start with the Earth Based petrifying spell (forgot the name) then use Dream Flower just to apply TH4, then kill them regualarly.

So wether I get hit for 200 or 2 it's the same
I see.
Do Crits have more chances to interrupt?

Given this info I was unaware of, I'm not sure why I was getting interrupted way more often than other people, to the point I was casting Carcharian Verve every 5 mins, until I got pissed and decided I liked /RDM more than /WAR.

It's not a matter of DT, not a matter of defense, not a matter of max HP. I guess a matter of Evasion maybe?

I've had an occasional rabbit not sleep here and there. It happens. But I cast fully in my FC set, because they sleep so easily without any real swaps if I use Tizona and an ilvl offhand.

Asura.Sechs said: »

It also comes down to good timing. I can afford to Diffusion/UL > CV at the start of Omen, and not need to recast until I get to Mandys (because they attack twice and hurt), and I pull those with Rabbits. Usually I don't have to recast for the rest of the fight, but I do anyways. If you train a group of monster and stop to cast, you can wait until they all get their string of attacks in, then cast. Usually it goes off without interruption, sometimes even if CV is not on. At the very least, you minimize the amount of "interruptions" you lose doing it this way.

Magic Hammer, Monberaux, Refresh/Idle/Battery Charge, bring a vile elixir(+1), melee in Tizona.

Floor 2 has beetles. You shouldnt need MP restoral on floor 1, so you can pull a beetle on F2 with Magic Hammer, group them, nuke down, then Magic Hammer the T Beetle right before he dies.

Floor 3(6*) you can pull rabbits/mandys, kill them, run over the pixies, Magic Hammer one, then go do Lizards/Birds.

Group Ladybugs/Porxies together, you can Magic Hammer Porxies if you need MP.

The last two groups are self explanatory. You can deliberately keep a pixie around if you need an MP battery. Just use Tenebral Crush + Subduction as your nukes, as pixies will resist both and remain alive after the groups die.

I normally only really have to fill up on beetles floor 2 and I save panopts on the last floor to get mommy if I need it in between cleaving everything else

MP management was my biggest issue when I started farming Omen on BLU. I guess it's easier with Tizona because for those 2 seconds where you melee transcended, you get enough MP back.

I feel these days MP isn't as much of an issue as it used to be, for people without Tizona, thanks to Monberaux, who often uses Elixirs that restore your MP as well.

Regardless, I can tell you the way I was handling it
1) I had some Refresh in my idle/pulling gear
2) I was using a couple of mp expensive spells in Escha, right before entering (that saved me like 300+ MP at start)
3) I was going /RDM for Convert, which I used more or less at birds/lizards
4) I was using Aporuru, who used Devotion on me a couple of times, usually at the right times
5) Qultada would keep Refresh roll up most of the time
6) On second floor I would Magic Hammer the Transcended Beetle right before killing it to replenish my MP
7) I was using Moogle trust for 2mp/tic refresh aura
8) Magic Hammer again on the porxies, and if need be can use it on the Eyes as well

My fastest run these days has been 12 minutes and something. It's not an absolute record of course, just my personal record.
My runs when I started were... 20ish minutes. I posted the times here in the BLU thread lol
Granted that I've gotta admit a big part of speed in Omen farming runs relies on how "lucky" you are in monster positioning/pulling.
Sometimes you lose a lot of time just because they don't wanna aggro/link or because they're too spread around etc.

Im doing 12-13 min now on THF. There is potential for 10min if I would risk it a little :P Also pixies take like 2 min >.>

Ofc :D

On a serious note tho, I like to find optimal solution for farming and if it sparks someone to maybe update me on this topic (I havent tried anything else beside THF for a very long time) I would be interested. Especially something that I could maybe use on alts. Tho probably BLU thread is not a good place for it :P

Edit: btw Nyame should be really good for blu omen farming (even without augments).

do ppl who solo omen bosses on BLU switch between melee and magic sets?

wondering cause AoEing fodder mobs sure is faster than melee but switching out spells several times with the massive lag in there costs you a good 3+ minutes each time.

switching spells in any instanced content is a nightmare tbh.
