Thanks Art, now I've watched the entire review for the 4th time. Love it, but totally killed an hour+.

Thanks, Honestly the only problem i had with "new" trilogy was EP 1, they should have either picked a better actor for anikin or a slightly older (and better) actor...

That and i'd have to agree that there were too many political bs things going on to make the first trilogy as interesting to a younger audience.

They shouldn't have made Anakin such a whiny douche in 2 and 3, would've been a lot better then.

I though, Obi-Wan could have handle this fight a bit longer, I least until Yoda had arrive.. :/

However, Yoda is still the man! :P

I see a lot of you mentioning the KOTOR series, but have any of you read the Bane trilogy? As much as I love the Revan storyline, Bane's ranks up there in my opinion as well. I think they would make fine movies.

Don't hate on it before it's out, it might actually be good. If it's ***though (when it's out), go ahead.
Normally I would agree to this, but this time.. I just can't picture many situations were it will not fail the fanbase.

If they continue after episode 6 it would mean to reuse the main chars which will most likely be horrid despite that there are nice books for a few stories like the Thrawn series.
Creating something after the Mainchars death.. not possible due to the drastic changes which took place in the canon books. They would need to explain so many things besides who would be interested in that? <.<
Ignoring all books which revived the franchise would also be a no-go, it would just kill the addressed audience.

Only options would be again in the past, and be about a civil war Sith vs Jedis.. for epicness reasons it can't be less. That would be copypasting the new trilogy again... and who wants that?oo;

The Revan events would be the only popular one they could do.
1st movie Mandalorian war
2nd Star forge
3rd facing the Sith Empire in the unknown regions
leaves enough room for own creations in 1st and 3rd part.

Point 3 is covered so no original creations, he is captured by a sith lord between the first and second games, Meetra (the excile) rescues him with help of T4 and another sith lord. Actual spoilers ahead, you've been warned

I don't mind either but I'd prefer the ancient Jedi/Sith characters, at least for now.

Disney makes good movies, they did pirates of the caribeann. I think it all depends on who they get to direct and produce the movie, I would like to see christopher nolan get the nod.

They already hinted at what the next one would be. They said it would take place in the timeline after return of the jedi, continuing luke skywalkers story and rebuilding the republic.

I am sure there are going to be speculations on who the main protanginist would be since the empire is pretty much dead at this point, but the star wars universe is huge, im sure there are other threats out there.

The star wars franchise has always done exceptionally well, profit-wise. In 1977, it set a standard that hasn't been matched in the last 30 years. I myself, recall watching it on release. And going to the theater a couple days later to watch it again. Each episode since has paled in comparison, imo, but still could easily top anything in the genre.
As far as profit? Star Wars, Episode III, revenge of the Sith, had an estimated budget of 113 million dollars. It made 108 million dollars on it's opening weekend. Needless to say, the franchise is a great investment for Disney and I wish they continue in George Lucas's tradition with flair.

And it has made this much since then

I know, I just didn't like that part and can easily be reworked even if it's from the same guy who wrote the original <.<
I just view it as cheap exit strategy for the MMO <.<

and if I'm not mistaken, that is solely box office sales. Does not include DVD packages or merchandise sales.

I guess this should go here considering the topic... but ... I've had this star wars figure sitting on my desk for a few months... I got it as a gift ... never thought about it as funny before ... but ... now considering the new owners...

Well... you can judge that yourself ;p

Using the old actors would be so stupid.

And you couldn't have a story about Luke without Mark Hamil reprising his role.

The only way they could do this in a way I'd enjoy, is to make the movie take place 30 years after, so the actors look like they've aged the correct amount.

This is what Die Hard 4 did.

If not, then I'd prefer it to be the extended universe or KOTOR.

I think you misunderstood me mate. Mark hamill would be the perfect role for luke again same with han and leia . They all have greyer hair in The fate of the Jedi book series. Mind you all the del ray books that have been written have had the approval of george lucas to kill off certaint characters like chewbacca for example. They also continued the storyline from return of the jedi perfectly del-ray books has awesome writers. It is a epic read for sure Luke is the Jedi grand master the jedi now number once again over a couple thousand strong.

In the fate of the jedi the sith come back but are not like vader or the emperor. These are older sith since the hyper space wars they never followed the Rule of Two there isa whole world of sith and they number well over a thousand and have there own Grand master. Long live star wars i am definetly excited about this move from lucas.
