If you're overly bored you should see if Companion's Roll applies to the Luopan.

http://wiki.bluegartr.com/bg/Companion's_Roll (Pet Regen + Regain)

Not that the Luopan needs Regain, but regen is nice lol.

I'm a female taru so this picture is rather disturbing.

I'm gonna go buy Malaise and test the -MDB. Costing me relic money!

Looking at the Staff trials for the VIT and Pet: PDT path, they don't seem too bad actually. Pet killshot during Earth weather, and unlike the SMN specific staves where you must use a specific avatar, you can use any pet for killshots on this path.

Might be worth doing this Staff if it is proven to affect a GEO's Luopan as well.

So, with this Staff (-13% PDT), MKE augmented head piece (-10% PDT) and the natural -25% the Luopan has already, that's a total of -48% which is freaking nice! And that's not including possible AF/Relic/Emp armor stats that may also increase the Luopan's durability.

However, if Pet: PDT does not affect the Luopan, then completely disregard everything I just said. LOL

I won't be making a ToM PDT staff :P I might consider making a Moogle hat though w/ it. Maybe.

25% isn't confirmed for level 99, it could be based on Geomancy skill!

Just tried this, doesn't work. Both <pettp> and the plugin PetTP reported no regain effect, and the luopan's HP fell just the same.

I'll wait until someone tests Pet: PDT gear on Luopans first to see if it affects the Luopan. THEN I may replace my BST's MKE hat in favor of the Mage hat with the same augment. The Staff will come later, I think.

I'm still 30 GEO, but I'll be leveling over the weekend. I can get to 75 quick enough and test the hat myself of no one else does it by then.

I forgot that /GEO doesn't have access to Luopans. I can't test Stout Servant unfortunately!

Luopan -DT Testing:

1K Needles on GEO: 750 (100%)
1K Needles on Luo: 579 (22.8% DMG reduction)
1KN on GEO + Luo: 437 + 320

This is the exact amount my Luopan took at level 65, so it's static and doesn't improve with skill or level.

Prothescar says this equates to 76/256 (-30%) DT despite the 22.8% and 26% shown, which may have something to do with Ballista DT calculations, the workings of which I don't really know so I can't determine anything.

Ballista damage = x-(x*(x/4000))

where x = damage pre-adjustment

From my post on BG said:
Since Ballista damage (call it D*) is

D* = floor(D(1-D/4000))

GEO should have taken 500 from 1000 needles, but it took 437.

500(1-500/4000) = 437.5 --> 437 as expected.

The Luopan took 320 damage, so we have to work backwards.

D(1-D/4000) = 320 has a solution at 350, so the Luopan took about 350 damage pre-Ballista adjustment, which corresponds to ~-30% damage reduction.

Here the GEO took 549 damage, so it should have taken around 696 damage, which is pretty much what we'd expect from the frost breath formula (HP/3 + level/0.625 ---> 697 damage).

The Luopan took approximately 429, implying 488 damage pre-reduction.

(697-488)/697 ~ 30% reduction, so it did not see any unique reduction from the breath spell.

Thanks Proth for arming me with another formula!

D*(334,261) --> D(367,280) ~ -23%

GEO and Luopan took different damage from this spell. GEO was /BLM so no MDB, implying the Luopan has lower base INT than the GEO I think.

Minor info, but I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere.

Using Concentric Pulse works like SMN AoE attacks, in the sense that anything that you hit by accident will not aggro you.

for alliance sized situations the defense down loupan should provide a larger boost to overall dmg across the group than the attack plus simply because out of party dds will benefit, as will rng and cor. We can only hope it stacks with other defense down effects

Look back maybe 2-3 pages and you'll see about 4hours worth of me testing it... it does fully stack with everything else.

Didn't test but since it fully stacked with other DEF down moves we can assume that yes, it will.

GEO debuffs are fully stackable with their counterparts.

Gavvy and I didn't have Angon to test with for what we did which is why it wasn't in there but someone else may have tested it as well... It's probably safe to say it does stack given that everything else seems to but I suppose confirmation would be ideal.

Edit: Beaten

This is actually kind of hilarious if true. So if somehow, a job could push it's pre-adjustment damage up to 4000, say blm MBing thundaja with all the bells and whistles or a relic rng's barrage, then hypothetically it would do zero damage?

Also, any pre-damage over 2000 would actually reduce post-damage...

Seems pretty funky for SE to use an adjustment with those properties haha. Although, I guess it is simple and does the job for any "normal" damage.

also worth noting that the function makes it impossible to do damage over 1000 in ballista which I have seen occur on multiple instances, so the equation may have some added complexities.

Actually I misread your post, it is sort of curious since 1 * 4000 would be 4000 - 4000 = 0

It is probably impossible to do 4000 damage on a single-hit ability in Ballista.

Likely the case, I've not seen anywhere close to that. Still would be funny if you could. Threshold is set high enough to where* (holy ***) it won't be an issue on a per-hit basis though

Blaze of Glory and Ecliptic Attrition effects Stack. Popped BoG then casted GEO-Fury to test with, and popped Ecliptic after. Saw my attack rating rise twice. Screenshots to come soon
