I personally don't overly enjoy the art-style, but that's only a fraction of the game.
But, Quote: Why complain? Because it's embarrassing. Because I wouldn't want to be seen playing it in public. Because I love Japanese games and Japanese RPGs and I don't want them to perpetuate the ugly "boys' club" mentality that has pervaded gaming for almost three decades now.
While I can somewhat agree that a character designed with *** nearly popping out is borderline, why is this retard white-knighting over pixels? The phrase goes, "Sex sells." I mean, look at a lot of anime out there and how big the *** are and all the sexual innuendos. If you feel too "ashamed" because you cannot separate fantasy and reality, that's your problem, not the gaming industry's.
And as far as cosplay goes, if females decide to dress-up half naked and expect to not get ogled by men, they're bloody delirious. Take someone to keep an out for you at those conventions.

The issue is when people jump on big words like *** "misogynistic". Seriously now.
If the guy was a writer of kitchen jokes, no problem the word fits, if the guy is drawing "ridiculously voluptuous" women, it doesn't fit.

Perhaps they're trying to hint at the part of the definition of misogyny where it is mistreating of women, which I don't see how this is mistreating anyone because it is a fictional character. Otherwise, the more primary term of hating women, obviously does not apply here.

So does racism, actually everything can sell if you advertise it long enough. It's your right to not be angry that entairtment creators treat you like a mindless teenager that can't enjoy something without boobs and gore. Such art styles are being promoted as the easy way out to make anything. This retard as you put it is annoyed about that attitude.
As for cosplay I disagree, there is no excuse for men to oggle. If these men can't separate between their fantasies and reality then it's their problem that will be delt accordingly.

I don't really care about artists creating oversexualised women, or strong burly men. There is a target audience for everything, and balance is important most of the time. Sometimes developers stick to an extreme, which might gain a large enough audience to keep going, but has the risk of pushing people away that might have been interested if you put in more variety into your character designs.
Characters can be very unique sometimes, and a petite woman could be very popular not through their body type, but through their strong attitude and determination. A skinny weaker man could be very popular because they are strategists and tacticians instead of strong warriors. It's nice to see a developer break away from what's easy, and take risks with their characters to make them likable in other ways, and I feel that those do far better when done correctly.
If you end up getting turned off by a game, like Dragon's Crown, it wouldn't be the first time nor the last. The developers took risks and they might have gained fans by doing so, but they would have lost potential fans as well. If you don't like it, you have other options that will suit you better. You were obviously not their intended audience.
I'm not so worried about sexism in games as much as I am with women who try to have a career in developing games. It is a much more serious issue in the workplace, and games that are created for an audience that wants attractive women are going to always be around because that's what the people want. If they didn't then there wouldn't be enough sales to support it. Just like how CoD is still around, and no matter how much people rage over it there will be enough people that buy it every year that it would be stupid for them to stop making them.

Or YOU could buy/make games that appeal to female gamers.
Games that attract so many of them, companies see the potential profits as more enticing than the current "soup-of-the-day."
I find your lack of punctuation and capitalization to be representative of lack of education in the country! What OS are you using so I can inform them that they are failing to properly educate you on the use of punctuation and capitalization!!!!! CLEARLY it's their responsibility!!!!

I'm not being manipulated to buy anything. You're proposing the manipulation of companies to produce what you deem "socially responsible" products?

I'm sorry, but women who cosplay know exactly what they're doing. If they didn't' want men to look at them then they wouldn't be doing it.
Do you think that they want to dress up and not have anyone look at them? They wouldn't be out in public dressed up as *character* if that was the case.

It's more about the harmful effects of the objectification of women.
Sort of one of these deals:
Of course, this ***sells - especially in Japan - where women are more objectified - there is a cultural preference for neoteny (look at her face) but large breasts are still sexually appealing to men - and the overall sexual culture is very repressed in a lot of ways (and way way open in a lot of other ways) so I can't actually harshly criticize the artist, it's more of a "really?"

Pretty sure racism is the furthest thing wanted from anyone's minds, except those who gain benefits from segregating themselves and playing the victim card for overly extensive periods of time. Quite frankly, the reality is that this one game represents a very small part of the gaming industry and to take it and assume the entire industry is doing the same because of a small faction of games that actually do it, is ludicrous.
Gore? So what? You can't have every game being the exact same thing. Who cares if people want to play Call of Duty, Turok, or Mortal Kombat? Again, different between fantasy and reality, if people cannot separate the two, they need to seek immediately mental assistance before they harm someone else or themselves.
As for cosplay I disagree, there is no excuse for men to oggle. If these men can't separate between their fantasies and reality then it's their problem that will be delt accordingly. Tangible real life women attempting to bridge the gap between the two is pure fantasy? You've got some serious delusions. Granted, men should know how to act in public, but the reality is there are a lot who don't. Cosplayers need to be prepared themselves instead of just continuing to let themselves be victims.

That's manipulation ....... I was talking of Kotaku/GAWKER antics but ok ... Whatever ... lol
And I am well aware I am being manipulated by Square-Enix into paying monthly fee for a game which has less than optimal support currently. And man I am doing that willingly. :)
I'll certainly give money to Kamitani and Atlus when the game releases. Not only because I appreciate the style of their games, but also because it loooks like it will be a hell of a fun game to play.

This is pretty funny too:
You can do the same thing with female characters too, but sexualization and objectification of men is less of a systemic issue.

I find it amusing that Kotaku singled out that game, they should check out the F2P MMO Scarlet Blade, or even Tera if they really want something to whine about.

Racism doesn't always involve having black men picking up cotton in a field. Can you please tell me how many games you have seen where the main characters are anything other than a white male? Hell I was impressed when the walking dead actually had a black dude as a protagonist. How many times have you seen in games an asian that was NOT a scientist of sorts? Hell even the elder scrolls had races that featured specific stereotypical "racial" characteristics. I am sorry to disappoint you it's not a small part of gaming nor it's a "victim" card. Excessive gore from an artistic standpoint is usually a sign of lack of creativity. Exceptions apply (Bioshock infinite comes to mind).
In your cosplay example, when someone stalks you, is it acceptable response from an officer to tell you that you should be "prepared" and don't act like a victim? If someone tries to mug you, is it acceptable for you, to hear from someone "he shouldn't had money on him?". Same thing, If someone oggles you or stalks you you are a victim, you have NO resposnsibility to dress or act another way to discourage the violator, instead the violator should be punished accordingly. In the case of a con, get thrown out.

They could *** about Rape Lay.
then again it's rather old now.
04/12 Kotaku posts this piece of "feminist criticism":
http://kotaku.com/game-developers-really-need-to-stop-letting-teenage-boy-472724616
George Kamitani replies half assed gaming journalism with this:(twitter screenshot from a third party)
https://twitter.com/HokutoAndy/status/326548474772484098/photo/1
Actually the picture is from the dwarves that are another selectable character on the same game the journalist was criticizing. A tongue in cheek joke which was interpreted as a homophobic insult.
04/16 Kotaku "journalist" replies with another article :
http://kotaku.com/the-real-problem-with-that-controversial-sexy-video-ga-478120280
Then after all that frigging flame throwing they toss this: (today, 04/25)
http://kotaku.com/beyond-the-bosoms-this-art-is-some-of-the-best-in-the-480270975
Seriously WTF is going at Gawker ?
Not satisfied with stupid gossip now they're trying to attack game makers ?
