Being healthy? I get your point, men do like big breasts, it's sexually attractive, but it doesn't mean that they don't like women with small breasts. Archer

we are not talking about being "healthy"

"healthy" has nothing to do with bra size

I agree. He draws what he likes and what will sell. Why get angry at the cook when he makes what the majority want to eat?
people should not talk about these kinds of things ever clearly this is going to be the best way to make sure the rampant sexism present in gaming culture is dealt with
of ffs. get the *** over it

look dogg if you want to continue to hold horrible opinions about important stuff you are more than welcome to do so but you don't get to decide whether or not other people are going to mock you for having them

it's your opinion that they are horrible.

I agree to an extent that the industry is sexist.

However people need to pull the knot out of their panties and move on with their lives.

If you want to *** because there isn't enough titles that you enjoy because they cater to a different crowd: sure.

If you want to *** about discrimination, or abuse: sure.

Don't sit here and *** because people enjoy certain things, and companies are willing to sell them what they want, when it's not harming anybody.

You're taking it too far, and it's really sad.

this is not difficult, buddy

Quite frankly I find that the presumption that all women don't enjoy the same things as the male crowd more sexist, but that's just me, and I'm not sitting here insulting people over it.

Some people like certain things.

Some companies are willing to provide for that consumer.

Get over it.

Also, please tell me how a woman character designed like that is sexist?

for starters, it presents a physical ideal for women that is hypersexualized, whereas the physical ideal presented for men IN THE SAME CONTEXT (this game) is based on athleticism

same ***you see in comic books. the men don't have any more realistic body types than the women, it's true, but at least with the men they look like reasonable depictions of somebody who could pick up a car

What does a sorcerer need to be athletic for? lol

So women can't have a lesser muscular tone without being inferior despite their superpowers? Who's sexist now... People want to define their characters as male or female and at a certain point of muscles, females will start looking like men, so it's better to keep them separate in that manner.

why do you need to justify your preferences to me by reminding me you aren't the only one who has them

i'm not doing that, despite googling "sexism in video games" will show a lot of people who've given this a lot more thought than i have

I don't consider it sexy. I wouldn't play that game in any situation where a woman or a non-gamer friend could walk in on me, no matter how good it is. It's not on the same level as porn, but it'd still embarass me to some extent. The design is completely over the top, and as kotaku said, looks like something made by a 14-year-old boy.

That said, there are clearly people who do enjoy that design. This is a game company, they aren't designing the game to make a statement about what male and female bodies are or should be. They're designing it to make money. If they designed it like that, clearly they believe their audience will receive it better like that.

I love how the gays and 'progressive' men will champion any cause that looks like it can make them more supportive to women. It's a game design, deal with it.

You make more money by making your game characters sexual in a way, that's a fact, nobody familiar with video games should be surprised, Asian or Western video games alike.

Pretty much.

That being said, you can't blame everyone of them to be white knights, some of them really believe in this. It's still stupid in the end, but they don't do it for an *** they'll never get.

Contradictory.

My defense is because when I pick up a video game, I want it to be a world I can get into; despite what it's characters are dressed like or what they look like. If I see something overly obsessed on, like the awkward nonchalant perverse moments in Star Ocean: The Last Hope, I go, "That's a little weird..." but I move on and continue enjoying the game.
Also, Samus is one of the most badass females characters in the industry, until NinjaTheory got a hold of the franchise and tried to make her like a little girl with daddy issues, but I like to pretend that game was never made. There are dozens of other female characters in games that lead/support, so I don't see where the sexism is coming from.

so, if somebody's position is that a game with female caharcters with, shall we say, unrealistic proportions helps them "get into" the "fantasy", it is your opinion that it is inappropriate to point at them and call them losers

because good luck with that

(also their precious feelings matter a lot less than the process of eradicate completely unrealistic and exaggerated sexual expectations of women, otherwise known as "rape culture", HTH)

Didn't I say something earlier about being a presumptuous idiot? If people are only buying a game because they want to imagine perverse things about the female characters in the game, then they're a pervert. But it get's back to ***(pervert)-shaming, and good luck with that.

Are you really arguing that the right thing is censoring animation or shaming people who enjoy it..? I assumed you're doing it because of how it looks since you normally seem intelligent and the alternative is laughable.

never been on it! I do know that as soon as I saw that last post, I knew you were either a super troll and had me going for 3 pages or a complete idiot.

The fact that you even said "rape culture" (presumably with a straight face) in a thread that started as "journalist criticizes FICTIONAL CHARACTER DESIGN in a *** FANTASY VIDEO GAME" is amazing. Regardless of whatever occurred in this thread, that you turned it into: THIS IS WHY THIS SOCIETY IS:..... wait for it

Quote:
Rape culture is a concept used to describe a culture in which rape and sexual violence are common and in which prevalent attitudes, norms, practices, and media normalize, excuse, tolerate, or even condone rape.

boobs in a video game = rape is a normal attitude in our society. take a bath with your toaster.

Rape culture is a blanket word that gets thrown around by progressives and gays. If you want to get into it, the general theory is that sexual objectification will make women seem more like objects and make rape seem more acceptable. I'm pretty sure the woman being objectified in this thread is an object, by most definitions. Just saying.
