WAR Impulse Drive Set

Kaja lance + Uttu
STR 114+284+25 (last is boost-str)
DEX 101+181

These are all including gifts
TP Bonus +250 (Moonshade)
WSD 48%
MA 3% QA 46% DA (Using Prosilo Belt +1, Sinew might be better)

Stardiver Set

STR 114+281+25 (last is Boost-STR)
DEX 114+193

These are all including gifts
TP Bonus +250
+200/1024 fTP Bonus (Fotia Gorget + Belt)
WSD 3%
MA 3% QA 5% TA 69% DA

ID was consistently beating SD and not by a small amount. My original plan was SD at 1K and ID at 1500, but then ID was always winning and their own Gravitation so I stuck with ID.

Your forgetting I'm on WAR, MA procs favor Stardiver

I feel like im writing my posts in different language.

I said clearly that ma proc favors Impulse not Stardiver at 1250TP.

Stardiver with fotia at 1250 tp has 1,075 fTP on ma proc.
Impulse has 1.4 fTP on ma proc if you count in +40% damage from Kaja.

Your Impulse with ma calculation actually dont have ma proc >.>
Its (2.25 + 2 * 1) * 1.4 = 5.95 so more than Stardiver.

Using prosilio +1 on ws that gets +30% damage boost with one double attack proc at 1250tp is very wrong even if it has 10 str and attack.

with capped fSTR and attack for ID I get:

Mean: 18545.0978
StD: 4726.93818494
Min: 0
Max: 42428

changing the attack/defense ratio to 2.0 I get:

Mean: 9262.3202
StD: 2542.83723688
Min: 1778
Max: 21643

for stardiver:

Mean: 17326.2598
StD: 3235.98864422
Min: 3175
Max: 26204

Mean: 8625.0654
StD: 1667.73349152
Min: 2575
Max: 14332

of course with kaja, Impulse will scale better based on TP. 2K values at capped attack:

Mean: 28261.8628
StD: 6041.86319183
Min: 0
Max: 52863

vs

Mean: 23346.5802
StD: 4190.2802259
Min: 4276
Max: 35406

I wouldn't say there is an attack boost. Probably just RNG on a few rolls or not consistent TP values between your two WS.

ID was doing 16~29K while SD was around 8~20K. Now the upper end is from TP overflow but I never saw an ID under around 16K. The values I was getting at 1K were just too high for non-capped non-super buffed content, which is what made my eyebrows raise up.

went and tested on uragnite. the level 101 ones have around 581-587 defense. naked except weapon is 969 attack for me, so roughly 1.67 ratio. at 3K TP out of shell I did 4423 damage. i didn't narrow down their VIT, but if i had any amount of attack or defense modification, it wouldn't be that low. so no, doesn't seem to ignore defense or have an attack increase. what is the difference in attack between your two sets?

Messed around with Austars sim for a while.

Apparently running Crit/STP Roll instead of DA/STP roll does a fantastic job of closing the gap between Ryu and Trish. Trish, of course, maintaining DA/STP rolls.

Got the DPS difference down to ~80 in Trish's favor. But again, no Jump support as of yet.

Everyone needs an epeen set though.

1.) Get max buffs with multiple one hours from buffers.
2.) WS in high variable gear until you get your highest number.
3.) Screenshot it and chop off your buffs and party members, displaying primarily the log and maybe your char doing the WS.
4.) Claim that's your average WS on that NM, and say you're not even sure you got proper buffs. And that you think there were several WSes that were much higher than that, and that if others don't get those numbers you don't know what they could be doing wrong - because such and such is easy.
5.) Profit

6. Remember to use Super Jump !

Think there will be a ws update that will mess with some of the polarm ws to make them stronger?

I noticed in this months ambu my ws with stsrdiver was very sporadic. Probably due to the many different debuffers and such throughout the month I had. I believe the highest i saw was like 24k and the lowest 8k (memories fuzzy so this is only based around last day I did ambu) Which is great for nonbuff situations I believe. But then when parsing against the drks i play with often i got spanked. They just hit so much harder. Torcleaver does them justice. Which leads me to believe that drg as a job is pretty well off. But the weaponskills can use some adjustments. Since ws like stardiver and impulse drive are like weaker versions of other jobs ws. We would be a bit better off in zergs and such if they buffed them a bit. At least this is my conclusion of it. Does this seem correct to others as well? Also I want to throw this out there. I am missing my augment on trish currently. And if this trish augment makes that major of a difference then please let me know.

DRK has stupidly high attack and single hit WS's dont require as much accuracy as multihit weaponskills. They've just got a better kit for this month, if you're running anything other than Gungnir, funnily enoughly.

So in a zerg where would you list drg compared to the other dds such as drk war sam and dd run? I guess mnk as well now.

New upgrade to polearm makes it crit on ws i think. Which is cool. Since based on wording seems it scales with tp and impulse is one of them ws you pop off at higher tp it seems.

If it forces the ability to crit onto non crit weaponskills, that would be pretty cool.

I have my doubts though.

It seems like it. I mean it says "DMG:333 Delay:480 DEX+20 INT+20 MND+20 Accuracy+40 Attack+30 Magic Accuracy+40 "Magic Atk. Bonus"+21 Magic Damage+226 Polearm skill +250 Parrying skill +250 Magic Accuracy skill +250 "Impulse Drive" "Impulse Drive" damage +40% Weapon Skill: Increases critical hit rate based on amount of TP consumed"
Just a copy and paste. But it sounds like it will force a crit.

Has anyone gotten a chance to use the new Ambuscade Polearm? I'm trying to decide between the Polearm, Scythe, and Great Axe and thus far haven't seen anything posted about any of them.

The way I read it was like an AM effect of enhanced crit rate based on tiered TP (i.e. 1000-1999 = 20%, 2000-2999 = 40% etc) after the WS is executed. So you'd get the bonus to your critical hit rate for normal hits and crit ws (Drakesbane), but not force a crit.

If you think it will force a crit on non critical WS, you are VERY optimistic XD

If that's true, then it might be totally broken, but im waiting for clear test. Just go outside of bastok and make WS in as much crit damage as you can. If you will get huge spikes randomly then it probably crits, but to make sure, it would be good to make math confirming the numbers you are getting then.

Just remember bees take more damage from piercing than worms :P

EDIT: Im hearing similar rumors from DRG from my LS. I wonder if thats a bug or SE intentionally made something so broken.

EDIT: Nvm I heard 50-60k avg Impulse drive on SAM while spamming and up to 90k spikes on Neak, 99k spikes on piercing weak stuff too. Great we will have severals months of nothing but WAR SAM and DRG spaming Impulse Drive, because SE wont patch it sooner for sure. If they even patch it at all. Ehhhh

Why patch it? It's not even as powerful as ACAF.

Because it makes all REMA for 3 jobs that can use it obsolete (unless you want to self skillchain I guess) and more importantly it divides DDs to WAR, DRG, SAM >>>>>>>>>> everyone else, when it was finally started to be a little better with almost all DDs being relevant.

So now we can use those jobs, as well as SMN, no?

Stop with SMN obsession. SMN AC was and will be above anything else. We are talking about non 1hr zerg and balance between melee jobs.

Shining one apparently does force that crit on impulse drive.this leads me to question how would we gear it? Like does the crit hit on the empy pants beat the af pants wsdam? Also should i make a set for when im ws'ing at lower tp and one for higher tp?
