Yes, a communication error with screenshot evidence. Sorry, where are their screenshots? I'm not about to do this with 3 more jolteons and 5 of each other eevees to prove it further This makes 2/9 total. Had the first eevee been a jolteon, I'd be a little less skeptical, but as I said, you have a 33% chance of getting the eevolution you're looking for.

Until the programmers themselves say "Yes, this is something we put into the game as an easter egg", I'm calling *** based on my testing.

Not sure what screenshots are supposed to prove, but have some and a video:

Ignoring the other hundreds of testimonials in addition to my own (which after our walk around campus, 6 people + myself = 7, the chance of any eeveelution occurring = a presumed 33% each = 1/3. For that 1/3 to happen 7 times at once, that 1/3 needs to occur 7 times. 3 = total number of possible outcomes, 1 = the desired outcome. To find the chances of the desired outcome occurring 7 times, we need to multiply the number of possible outcomes, 3. 1/(3^7) = 1/2187 chances of all 7 Eevees being the desired outcome. That's not a very high chance.) and even these photographic ones, previous posts indicate you already had all 3 eeveelutions. This trick wouldn't work for you as a result, it doesn't matter how many Eevees named Sparky you try to evolve for a guaranteed Jolteon since you already have a Jolteon. The trick is only confirmed to work for the first of each eeveelution, not successive ones. Therefor, trials are only relevant and valid if they are done by an individual without the eeveelution(s) as the claim is centered around those individuals.

There is a slim statistical chance that all of the people who this has worked for 3/3 got it all on blind luck (which, on an individual basis, if you got all 3 eeveelutions 3/3 without this trick you'd be looking at a 1/27 chance per individual, or around 3.7% chance of success). Right now, however, the evidence is greatly in favor of this working.

It does work. Have you tried logging out via settings > log out after you've renamed it?

Because if there's one thing I've noticed communicating with servers is really unreliable at the moment.

yes, I have. I done everything the stupid hoax had said to do.

But please, believe everything you read on the internet...

That list, for the most part, is fairly accurate. I would say, however, that I have run into about 1 eevee every 3-4 pidgey/rattata, but I have only ever seen 3 magikarp since I started playing. 3/101 is a long way to go, but "virtually everywhere" for Magikarp just hasn't been the case for me lately.

How are people gathering that much stardust? Is it just controlling gyms x10 and catching every damn thing that walks? Most I've gotten is like 5k, then I spent it on my Firajeon

I just catch everything I can, hatch eggs, and power up nothing till I'm 15-ish, like Jiko (I think) suggested.

Ok. I went and did the evolve trick over the weekend and gained a bunch of levels, but I guess I need to focus more on catching and hatching and stopping everywhere, and don't level anything.

For Pokestops, I usually just ride with other people and hit them as we pass.

They aren't so much Pokestops as they are Pokeslow-down-as-you-passes.

I occasionally run into issues with PokeStops. This morning, I was right in front of a stop and could NOT get rewards from it. tried about 6 times, then took off and went to work. It was blue. Other times, while im driving, I click it and can get rewards, and others, it says "too far away". I'm guessing this has something to do with the gps in-game not updating properly as it is on my phone, and I'm actually farther away fromt he stop when I finally click it. It just seems really buggy.

Had no issues with stops yesterday at the beach, but one today just kept saying "Try again later". Any idea why some stops just don't work?

In my experience, this is more of an issue with server congestion. During off-peak hours, I've never had an issue with pokestops, yet during peak hours like 6 PM, some don't respond at all. So more of a server issue rather than an issue with specific Pokestops

Stuff.

So now I'm hearing conflicting stories. One (what youre saying) saying you can only get one if you don't already have one. Another saying you can only use this name trick once, irrespective of having one already or not. And a third stating you can use it as many times as you want.

Obviously, the last one isn't true given I debunked that already. Second one, same thing unless what you're saying is accurate; you can't have one already. If that's the case, I cannot prove nor disprove this, as you said, I have all three.

With that said, I know someone who just started. I will let them know of this, and ask them to test it out and will post the results. I'll try and get screenshots from him as well.

There are two issues that I've noticed with stops:

1) The game recognizes that you're standing right next to it, but gives a "Try again later" message and no items. I wanna say this only happens when I start spinning the thing before the picture and description are loaded (due to a slow connection) and then close out of the stop in hopes of opening it a second time and finally loading everything. The stop stays blue because you haven't gotten the items/XP, but the game already recorded your spin and won't let you try again. It's possible you still get the items and xp, just without a notification. Not sure.

Solution: wait 5 minutes and come back. Or prevent the problem entirely by waiting to spin until everything finishes loading. :)

2) You're getting the "Too far away" message while riding in a car. I think this happens because the game updates your position at irregular intervals, either due to a poor interface with the servers or the imperfection of your phone and GPS. It could be tracking you slowly for awhile--lagging behind your actual position by a few dozen meters or so--and then suddenly start tracking you in real time as you pass by the stop. So instead of walking by slowly enough to load the stop and spin for items, your character sprints past it and you get nothing.

Solution: ask the driver to slow down if possible.

I understand #2 as exactly that. Its just really annoying.

#1 is very inconvenient, but I will be more patient with spins. The only issue is, when #2 and #1 clash, you cannot be patient before spinning the globe. Lol.

Also I used my first lucky egg last night. Made it about halfway through my horde of pidgeys and weedles before I got booted offline for 10 minutes. I had been playing for an hour and a half with no problems whatsoever and then stayed on for another hour after recovery with no issues, so I guess it was just the infamous curse of the egg. :/ I guess this is what happens when you mess with Poké-santeria.

Based on what I've heard here, I'm wondering if this is actually an intended gameplay feature. "Lucky Eggs: DOUBLE OR NOTHING, ***."

Build up a few Pidgey and Rattata and evolve them during downtime during a module.

I thought it was most efficient to use the entire egg timer for evolutions only, since they're 1000xp each and can be spammed more quickly than capturing things (and without the risk of freeze-on-capture)?

Or is the module just so you have something to do with your remaining egg time in case you run out of evolutions?

Depends where you're at. For me, personally, I evolve everything first, then whatever time I have left, I do pokestops since theres about 20 in a 4 block radius and catch the random pokemon that spawn.

If you arent near that many spots, its better to incense and module with the time remaining.
