Besides pidgeys and weedles, thats really all I ever find.

As of right now, any claims or reports of "Certain Pokémon spawning in a certain area" are either rumors, anecdotal, or only for specific types. Sylph Road has reported that ground, fire, rock types do have a propensity to spawn in deserts. There was a rumor that "Ghastly spawned near cemeteries" and "Voltrob spawned near power plants". Absolutely no evidence of such at this point in the game.

However, I would like to note that there are various "PokeMon Nest" websites on the web that you can use to determine areas with the most logical conditions. For instance, I caught Geodude and Ponyta at the beach last week. Also Sandshrew. Did the beach have anything to do with the spawns? Did the weather, being in the 90s affect it? Only Ninantic can say, but Sylph Road seems to think its intended. So hard to judge at this point.

I just don't want people running up into power plants trying to catch electric pokemon and such. The information we are getting daily is being proven and disproven daily. Take what you hear with an even amount of skepticism.

edit: I'd just like to add that, from what I've seen (also anecdotal), any pokemon appears to be able to spawn virtually anywhere. Just from the various pokemaps and my own experience. However, I am not disputing that some areas have better nest volume than others. Just pointing out the need to exercise caution when trusting the sources of it.

Is anyone having problems logging on right now?

For the last 3 hours. I had a damn Vulpix on radar also.. >< Things are rare as hell around here.

Edit: I got in at 5:46 pm EST, but only have the GPS map loaded. None of the pokespots, gyms, or pokemon on radar are spawning, though.

PGO has a minor update on android. Possibly a reason for server downtime.

Notes say its just some minor text fixes, though.

Edit: Update seems to have no effect on actually being able to get into the game, for me at least. 6:30pm est.

Servers are down I think, either heavy traffic or another DDoS.

have been down pretty much all day. this is primarily why I don't intend to spend $ on the game, we're basically playing a beta atm. with any luck all this ***gets resolved but knowing Niantic from past experience they won't fix anything.

Apparently, hackers have DDoS'd the servers and the group taking credit for it say they plan to do it again for 20 hours on August 1st.

Not sure why people do ***like that and ruin people's fun.

And this is the day that SF was suppose to have a huge Pokewalk thingy... think 20k+ ppl RSVPd but who knows how many would actually go.

I can think of worse ***than death that I'd personally be willing to do, not out of anger but boredom. Pokemon Go relieves my boredom, when you take away what relieves my boredom you could end up tied to a wooden chair with your scrote nailed down with rusty nails and inaccurate hammer swings. *psycho laugh*
