Pokémon GO! - (Savage)

Hatched usually are very good, but I've seen one at 66% or so before. Usually yeah, 80+.

What level were you when that 66~% one hatched?

24? Was a Tentacool I think, or Bellsprout. Bellsprout actually, cause I got 3 in a row. Was a fun day of egg hatching.

Judging by my own Pokemon IVs, the top tier message for IVs in appraisal seems to start at 85%

From what I gathered:

Tier 1: 100%-90%
Tier 2: 89%-67%
Tier 3: 66%-50%
Tier 4: 49%-0%

Could be wrong on some numbers, just going off some quick data, but that seems rather close.

My Snorlax is 86% and was Tier 1, that's why I was thinking 85%

That appraisal thing is great! Helps me weed out the weaklings.

But I was saddened to discover I have ZERO, ZILCH, NADA "perfect" Pokemon. The closest one I have is a 598 CP Squirtle that "is a wonder" and has max HP and Defense. I'm assuming the Attack is close to max so I'm saying 598 CP 15/14/15 IVs

Perfect IVs is great for the eventual end game at lvl 40, but it's not the most practical Pokémon to have right now in all scenarios. I still think a Pokémon that benefits from Type Advantage/STAB would see far more positive upside than the few % increase in attack/stamina/defense it would have.

So where I wouldn't "throw away" anything good, like a 100% Dragon <_< I would focus more of my attention on building a nice, versatile party with mixed type advantages and worry about the IV scores later. Getting strong movesets trumps that ideal score (obviously score + moveset is the biggest win).

If you come across a really nice one, treasure it, sure. But right now, since that pokemon would never really hit its potential until higher up, it's not always practical. Plus, a mediocre IV pokemon could potentially be stronger than a high IV pokemon, if you consider move sets that are granted.

I only say this because I started obsessing about having the highest IV pokemon early on. I still am proud of the few I have, but its just a score that doesn't always tell the entire story. I ended up spending a lot of stardust on the few high ones I have now, but I should have saved it for an 80~ battle worthy one with better type advantages. It would have given me a bit better versatility when attacking gyms.

I generally speaking stick with those with IVs of 80%, if what I suspect is true and the appraisal system lists those at 85% perfection as top tier then I may go for that in future with the view of saving time.

I can also attest to having a properly balanced team, I was training an instinct gym that had: Starmie, Cloyster, Starmie, Gyarados.

I could roll 3 of them with my 2k Snorlax no problem and fall short at the Gyarados which rewarded 300xp to the gym, or I could squeeze past 2 of them with my 1300 Jolteon and get 400xp for the gym, I know which one I prefer!

You bring up an interesting point Tidis, which is something I encountered last night. I feel like players are just grasping for low-hanging fruit and sticking vaporeon/gyrados at gyms without any thought. Usually I'll check the list of pokemon at the gym to see what it's got. If it already has 2-3 water pokemon, I won't add another one, as that makes it extremely easy for opponents to counter that type. I get that the game is really new right now, but players really need to work together to maintain gym ownership. Having Snorlax, Exxegcute, Dragonite, Vaporeon, Lapras, Charizard, Venusaur, etc mixed into a gym makes it significantly more difficult to defeat than 4 vaporeons.

Also, I worked my @$$ off last night conquering 3 gyms. Took about a full solid hour to build it up to around 16000 and people helped by joining. Clicked my defender bonus and only got 1500 dust/30 coins. I don't know why but, I feel like the defender bonus multiplier needs to be increased based on your gym position and prestige earned per xxtimexx. I could just as easily catch 15 pokemon in 15 minutes for that same amount of dust. It's not commensurate with the effort required to build it up.

You can build 16000 points faster by battling with a weaker pokemon than whats at the beginning slot.

500+/kill. Chansey (as your attacker) is amazing for leveling up gyms.

Also, Tidis, I'll take a further look into it today. I wasnt home when I looked, just went off of what names I had changed and left to IVs.

With my 1300 Jolteon vs my 1650 Golduck I was raising the gym 650xp per fight, just doing a quick 1v1, not too shabby.

Yeah I'm aware of that. It's just kind of rough to do that when the person puts a lapras as the starting pokemon....super high hp.

I caught an Eevee (CP 395) today during lunch, and when I did the appraisal it came back as the following....

Overall, your Eevee is a wonder!
It's best attribute is its Attack
It is matched equally by its Defense
Its stats exceed my calculations

So I then checked out the Silph Road IV rater site, and it pretty much verifies the appraisal from the game, but with more info verifying the HP/Stamina IV of the Eevee.

Attack IV = 15
Defense IV = 15
HP/Stamina IV = 11

Now to feed this thing some candies & stardust....

I have a 95.6% dragonite at 3070cp and a 100% dratini at 256cp...

And now there's freaking Arcanine up somewhere in my area.......and it's storming. FFS

That'd put you at about lv 29. I have the same IV dragonite, only lv 28. It's a very nice friend.

I'm guessing the 95.6% will be 3070cp. Atm its 2936 and i have at least 3 more power ups to go.

I have a 100% Gyardos. its 2324 atm but i can level it up at least once more before it caps.

I'm maxed at 28 at 2936, so if you have 3+, you're looking closer to 3100

Almost perfect 97.8%, but what I care about is the perfect move set. Done farming Dratinis now. That's max level for me at Lv. 26 now at 2744 CP.

You're still using GoStats? I stopped using out of fear of my account. Are we absolute certain there is little to no risk from continuing to lose it? I'd hate to get my acct banned for checking IVs...

If I get banned, then I get banned. I've said before I'm sure their focus is on people botting Gyms, botting levels, and such and not checking stats. For what it's worth that annoying "UNINSTALL ASAP" message for GoStats is gone anytime you load the program. If I was gonna be banned I'd have been hit by now; been using it since someone posted it in this thread and I've been fine.

No I'm just wondering for my own sake. I'm in the same boat, if it happens eventually, then whatever. But I was just wondering if there were any reported cases of bans coming exclusively from apps. In which case I was going to avoid it.

I agree, that banning for something simple like checking game scores is minor, and wouldn't merit me recreating a new account if banned.

I use gostats still also, I'm sure if they were going to ban us, they would have by now. The app scrapes very little from the .api... nothing like the maps do.

There are two guys from a FB group I am at that claim have ONLY used IV calculator app and that they were banned because of that. I don't believe that was the only reason, but I just stopped using GoStats for few days just in case. I believe I will restart using it soon as calculating manually is really meh.

I am on the same boat, if I get banned I'll live with it but it seems pretty harmless.
