I dont get the logic about the temenos furnace needing murky matter and vice versa.
The logic is that there are items tied to each zone (2 for Temenos, 2 for Apollyon), each requiring just that zone's mats.
Then there are items that can be augmented at either furnace, but requires mats from BOTH zones.
The logic is "we want you to do both zones instead of just spamming a single one".
But that's pretty obvious and I'm sure you knew that already so I probably just completely missed the point you were trying to make lol
If you ask me anyway the Matter system is convoluted and stupid.
Gameplay wise it's meant to be something that slows progress, because it's not 100% drop rate. In synergy with that, it's meant to be an aspect making people willing to do what is needed to mantain the high tier chests, because if you don't then one of the many things you'll lose, is the higher % of matter dropping.
In hindsight, given how SLOW the progress is regardless, after a certain rank and given how you're capped to a max amount of units each week anyway, knowing all of this, knowing you need over 600k to R30 a single piece, do you really need to further slow that progress with matters on each upgrade?
I mean, if you ask me progress looks slow even without matters required, so no reason at all for matters to be necessary, other than maybe for the very first upgrade to unlock ranks/augs.
If it were me I'd just remove matters as necessary past rank 1 and make so you can trade matters to NPC to receive, I dunno, 1,5k units of that zone?
Or even make them sellable eventually, so that people can skip a couple of runs each week! (in that scenario they should be worth more like 100 points though)
