Dynamis weapons should have been a COR gun but they got a way better option in 3 new daggers, and RNG got zero weapons they could use, because why the hell would you make those Crossbows of any path, lol.

They're giving COR swords and daggers, and RNG more bows and crossbows

Oh yeah for getting 3 amazing dagger instead of a gun isn't a complaint. That sword would had been pretty awesome for ranger as well but I guess still going to use sinister reign daggers.

Bastokan Galkas are free range, all organic.

My Home Point is in the Mines though. It's very convenient.

Not worth it. This is why SE gave us the ability to trade 2 Bravery Shards for 1 Mercy. They've been trying to tell us not to play Galka all along.

Quick question for all y'all smart people.

How much influence does Race actually have in modern XI?

Like, do Tarus still have more MP than a Galka with the same exact gear on Blm? If so, how much?

Is there a calculator or something?

Racial stats are mostly irrelevant.

Yes, thank you, that's what mostly means. We don't need to turn this into the same 4 page discussion as happened last time this was brought up.

The numbers are right there. Each person can individually decide if they think they need to pick or change their race for the benefits (and downsides) of changing from *whatever they are* to *whatever option they're thinking about being instead*

11 Str between Taru and Elvaan is not "mostly irrelevant".

To put that in perspective, 11 Str is 1 more Str than going from Hoxne Earring Rank 6 to Rank 8 (+10 Str).

The same Hoxne Earring people grind Master Levels for days/weeks/months just to get to rank 7 or 8 to use it.

Be whatever race makes you feel good about yourself.

Don't pretend it's irrelevant stats wise. It is not.

As long as people keep making the same claims that contradict reality, I will keep pointing this out.

Does getting 2 more mastery ranks also drop your AGI by 9 and INT by 13?

If so, people putting all those hours in are gonna be really disappointed when they decide to do Bumba on SCH, or Leaden Salute on COR.

Almost like changing races actually isn't a universal increase in stats, like the earring that very few people are bothering to chase.

Do you think you could tell the difference between a parse with a Taru SAM and a parse with an Elvaan SAM, with no other information given?

Oh ***, I forgot you don't believe in parses. Your eyes must be able to detect the difference, because in-game chat logs are the real deciding factor.

Racial stats are mostly irrelevant. Sorry if that hurts your feelings. Nobody is race changing so they can beat any content in this game, because the stat differences are irrelevant.

A parse will show you the difference between having 11 more Str and having 11 less str.

For a Sam at accuracy cap, the only thing that makes a difference to their dps is having less or more strength.

I do use parses of real world data. I don't use sims because sims are not real world.

"Vanilla" client users don't use parses and can't see that difference.

People care about 11 STR because there's nothing else worth caring about. It does not actually make a significant difference. If there has been anything in the past 25 years I have failed to do that I could have succeeded in had I 11 higher STR at the time, I couldn't tell you what it was.

It's always seemed to me that the HP racial differences make the biggest difference, even though they've been greatly flattened now. We've all had fights where we survived, and won, after having gotten to sub-100 HP. Galka's 100 HP edge over Hume/Mithra is pretty good.

The +1 to +3 Str that people would grind weeks/months for back at 75 cap is now the +10 to +15 Str that people grind for weeks/months for at i119.

More things change..

Racial stats play a small part in our performance, while Mlvls, gear, and buffs do all the heavy lifting. We're all working on mastery rank on top of everything else because it's a flat increase in stats over what we already have. Swapping race has a tradeoff. Mithra have higher dex and agility, so we have a small edge with rudras storm, ruthless stroke, etc. Elvaan and galka have higher strength, so they have a small edge with a large number of weaponskills. Yadda yadda. I think it's silly to race change for one role unless you play only 1 or 2 jobs ever and never swap, and even then it's just more fun to play as a race you enjoy. If you play a variety of jobs, mage, melee, tank, etc, then it's pretty moot because you're gonna be slightly better at one thing and slightly worse at another regardless.

Honestly the limbus shards point is the biggest racial impact nowadays. Multi attack, sTP, and wsd are far bigger factors than the base stats are for melee jobs nowadays. And comparing different races against hoxne earring is apples to oranges debate. You play the race you are and get hoxne on top of it. Hoxne is upwards progression, whereas race changing is just shifting the same amount of numbers to different positions.
