I've never read a Stephen King book (just never picked one up), but I know he's pretty big. I can totally understand your side, and agree with a few parts of it. :P

Lots of his books has been adapted to movies.

Carrie
Salem's lot
Children of the Corn
The Running man
Pet Cementary
It (Remember that scary clown?)
The Shawshank redemption
Rose Red
Dream Catcher
The Mist

just to name a few. At some point you must have at least saw some of his work.

All of them made it big, but all you had to do was put that he wrote The Shining, and then it's clear how amazing he is.

Yeah and notice just how different they all are lol. Also the Green mile was amazing. Tommy Knockers Storm Century etc... um The Stand is about the only movie from his books that I can think of that wasn't awesome

Interview with the Vampire was amazing as a book and film, but they royally screwed Queen of the Damned with it's film, only sections were taken from the book. Lestat ftw

Vampires don't come out in the daylight...at all. I don't care if it's a cloudy day. They sleep during the day.

True at some degree. But the idea of vampires on daylight isnt new.
In the Queen of the Damned movie Lestat and the Queen are seen in broad daylight (On the books they can't, they feel the urge to get underground or reclusive of sunlight) and in Blade also some vampires went to daylight but using sunblock.

Don't forget wearing motorcycle helmets. (Yes, it's nitpicking but I'm camping this NM for Thrakon Breastplate and I'm bored enough to remember that detail, I mean no offense).

Ahhhhh I love this thread. Those videos were great, but the english girl ranting was friggin ridiculous. She got so huffy puffy! lol I think my favorite part about Twilight is getting to heckle Twihards because it's like they know they're being HELP I AM TRAPPED IN 2006 PLEASE SEND A TIME MACHINE and run with it and it's all fun and games to make fun of the dazzle vampires.

This is probably my favorite social commentary on the movie:

"Parents, talk to your kids about Edward Cullen, and drugs if you find time." - It's *not* normal or romantic to be THIS *** craaazy.

"Edward and Bella are the most codependent *** ***." - lol.

It's girlporn.

LOLOLOL That is brilliant.
I admitt I have read the first book, and I will be reading the other ones. It appeals to my girly romance side, but at the same time they're not well written. Shes hit upon the money load by appealing to girls romantic fantasies, its got nothing to do with good writing.
I've yet to see either movie, I have no idea if a book thats mainly filler will make a good movie. From watching the trailers... it wont XD
In my opinion its a good easy read that fills time when youre not in the mood for a serious reading session.
*huffs* Also I believe the girl in the rant video *intakes breath* is scotish. *takes a slow gasp of air* All the angry breathing made for a funny watch! *deflates*
What do you guys thing of True Blood? (please dont give any of the plot away as the UK is only just getting the series)

ok so... I never read the books, and I only saw the second movie <.< yeah random I know but went with a friend...

Watching the movie; the plot was sort of..odd and predicable? I'm not sure how to describe it, it was just a feeling of huh?'...

Maybe it was because I didn't watch the first movie but Edward seemed kinda random 'oh hay gtta go cya lol'. Also that he was basically a pedophile.

I was also amused at how Bella basically used Jacob the whole movie. Like in a 'hey I love you, but I don't, sucker.'

Otherwise it was entertainment. Not with the 9.50 for the movie ticket, but entertainment.

Also another really annoying thing for me about the movie was THE SOUNDTRACK, was a horrible mix of music. Most of it didn't fit and was a tad awkward. However much I like Death Cab for Cutie I wish they hadn't done the song for New Moon.

LOl awesome pic. As far as True Blood goes it is pretty good. We've been done with season 2 for a bit now. I'd watch it. Oh yeah and Vamps can go out in daylight in it!!! But the consequences are much worse then glittering

Seriously, Katarzyna thanks for the laugh. That video was worth the watch. I did love the part, 'I know I just contradicted myself but I don't care'. From what I got out of that, Stephen King's review wasn't all that attacking compared to what she was saying.

*shrug*

Just another trend that one has to go through, I guess. In X months, no one will care enough to hate some crappy movie/story/book, anyway.

I couldn't get past the accents in true blood. ><

Oh, that poor thing in the video. She doesn't even understand how King is on a completely different level than Meyer... /facepalm

Eh, that's what I meant. The full southern attitude was making me cringe, pretty much throughout the whole first season.

Oh, I see lol.

I liked the fact the accents were throughout. Unlike some shows/movies where actors lose the accents of the characters they are portraying. Jack Nicholson in the Departed anyone? (great movie, but it always annoyed me he lost the Boston accent halfway through it.)
