But I did buy a skateboard the other day. It's really fun, but it won't help me build my chest/arms :<

It's better if you do a lot one day and then rest the next. I used to do this Push-up challenge, but then I got lazy. lol I made it to the last week (I probably repeated some over though), so I did notice a big improvement. How will push ups not build muscle? they will, in a very limited capacity. you build muscle by making tiny tears in the muscle, and resting while your muscle adapts to the strain placed on it by the wear and tear you put it through while push ups will be better than nothing, bodyweight pushups lack the sheer weight/force to create the muscle tears needed for appreciable progress it is possible to modify push-ups, i.e. have a friend sit on your back to make them more effective that said, i'm not aware of any way to modify them to the point they'd be an effective substitute for barbell/dumbell presses Right, I know how muscles are built, thats why I was surprised when you said pushups wont build muscle. Of course after so long of doing the same thing, you're gonna have to find ways to put more strain on your body to keep building it.

Amen to that ^^ my ls always asks me "why dont you do shout groups for seals?" well... we finally finished limbus last night~! *backstory* two of our lsmates broke off and formed their own ls a while back, we still keep in touch with them, they just wanted to do other stuff than abyssea every night. well last night they were doing the same limbus zone as us, and we had planned to team up, since all we needed was cor from apollyon. well, as we were waiting to go in, a solo rdm entered the zone we were doing, so my group (my ls split between 2 zones to get it) was called off while the other group finished their zone, well, the other ls group offered to let me join them if i didnt get it from the other zone. well i joined them and it dropped on the floor before last =D IT's counter productive to do pretty much anything in /sh. When i came back to the game back in Jan. I had to /sh to do alot of ***and it was so fkign horribad. People in this game are uber stupid and lack common sense. Fortunately for me I have very skilled friend that came back and a ls full of ppl that know wtf they are doing.
In 7 years of playing ffxi i never shouted for a pickup group for anything. Results from joining miscellaneous pickups were bad enough, I had no patience for vetting people then learning they had no idea what to do.
Thankfully anything you needed a linkshell to get 2+ years ago can be done with 2-4 today. |
