FFXI LGBT Community, Who Are You?

Oh god I loathed having to make that decision. :/ I'm really happy I ended up where I did though, and ya know I'd probably feel the same even if I had made a different choice.^^ Don't stress over it too much - wherever you end up, you'll find something to make it worthwhile. And if you get somewhere and just absolutely hate it, you can transfer. :D I would never have met some of my best friends if they hadn't transferred here. :)


Yeah, things've been moving in a better direction lately.^^ In other media too, not just games.

It just wasn't that way when I was younger and more impressionable. :/ The ideas I drew from my childhood heroes were things like "you're not a man if you don't nail the hot princess," "you're nothing without a girl," "grow up strong so you and your wife can live happily ever after and have 321430897 babies together." XD

I wouldn't pick a school just because my friends are going there. This choice needs to be something you want as well, not just because "Timmy" is going there. I would go see the campuses you are considering, including their dorms, and classrooms. Another factor often overlooked is the schools support services, like free counseling, tutoring, LBGT specific programs, and pre/post graduation career services.

I know nothing of the music industry itself, but you can make appointments with advisers or faculty in the program of the schools your looking at to discuss what you can do with each program, and how in demand it is.

Honestly, money for me was pretty low on my list of priorities, because I knew if I wasn't happy with the school it wouldn't matter how much I was paying.

Don't be afraid to transfer either. I found out rather fast that the first school I picked wasn't for me. (due mainly because of the professors.) I love the school that I am at now.

TLDR: College = a good idea :)

Oh another thing that's nice is a lot of schools actually admit you without considering your (in)ability to pay and then help you cover the difference after you enroll. :) ♥Vandy♥
