I don't think we have any dad's in here, but happy father's day, regardless.

The walls in my mind that I use to block out emotion are starting to crack.

I'm not sure if I like feeling "love" again. With love comes the feeling of longing, the emotion I hate above all else.

I understand this sounds like some emo kids rant but I just feel the need to get some stuff out.

I'm starting to fall for my straight friend. What makes it so much worse is the fact that I fully accept the fact that he's straight and I would never, ever try to get with him.

I'm having an internal power struggle to regain control of my emotions and it's leading me into mood swings. I normally don't use a large range of emotions so I don't really handle them very well the few times they do all rear their ugly heads.

I just wish I could get over him, I know it will pass which makes me fight with myself more. I feel stupid for having these kinds of feelings about someone I can't and don't want to change.

The joy I feel is worth it, I'm not saying I'm in love really, that to me requires the feeling to be shared. I'm simply saying that I know nothing will come of it and yet I still feel, I still care, I still long. Its just confusing.

yeah I suppose you have a point...the "phase" lasted like a year but it's never happened since and I can look at another woman and appreciate her beauty but I don't have those feelings anymore.

don't feel stupid for the way you feel. I know a couple of guys who sort of fell for straight friends and they handled it by talking to that friend and letting him know how he felt. Both guys said that after having the talk and hearing the words "I'm sorry, but I just don't feel that way about you, but you will always be one of my best friends" helped them to move on much more easily. They said they think the reason they were starting feel as you do now is because there was always that little inkling in the back of their minds that said "you know, maybe some day he WILL feel that way for me and we can be together" even though they were both fully aware of their friend being straight and having no intention to change that, the little voice was there until they put it to rest by having the talk.

I'm not saying this particular method would work for you, I don't know your situation, I just wanted to let you know that there are others out there who've had the same problem and been able to move on and be perfectly happy.

I actually had the same problem a couple years ago. Like Novaria said talking to them about it could help though it's hard to say with out knowing them. If they are someone you could talk about that with I'd suggest it though. I never had the balls to bring it up with my friend (was made harder by the fact that he was one of those people that liked to joke around by flirting with you.) and I regret never growing said pair...

Even though I'm 99% sure the outcome would have either been an accepting "k" or a "don't talk to me any more", that damned 1% "what if" situation makes me worry I might have missed out.

This deffinetly doesn't sound like a "emo kids rant" like you said though... Last I checked we were all friends here (except sele since she is evil :P... don't kill me <3 you) and this is the kinda thing friends help with no? Even if it's just getting something off your chest

So this weekend was amazing, Gay pride Houston is this coming weekend and Brandon and I are official dating yay. I'll get pics from pride. Anyone else going to Houston pride?
