I suspect that new items like this have a slightly higher rate of incidence than much later on

Multiple people have stated this on a few occasions, at this point it's confirmed that SE ups the Gobbie Box to slant towards newer items for a few months.

Generally new items are over represented in the first month.

Then they ninja lower the drop rate.

when SE puts new items in the game, the rate of acquisition skyrockets shortly after release

OK, I thought so. My initial thought around this was when Dynamis Divergence shards/voids came out. They were EX for 3-4 months and then when SE removed the EX tag, they were showing up from various sources of RNG. I generally think this is to either stimulate the economy or player engagement. Maybe there's other reasons too, but I think this works.

Anyway, thanks for confirming!

Lakshmi killed them all, there were multiple. I don't recall one per outpost but I know I fought them outside the cities and I think xarcabard or something. Might have been one per outpost.

I definitely remember 1 outside of each city, so there was definitely more than Treant to kill on each server. Thanks for clarifying!

I have done the smilebringer ones in mines as well. Talk to the moogle, talk to 4 NPCs, talk to the moogle, can use HP3 to 2 to save a lot of walking.

That's cool that the Hoxne Ampulla was added to the gobbie box
Maybe one day
By Felgarr on 2025-12-18 14:35:13
I know that Hoxne items where introduced in November's update, but I picked up my FES Gobbie Key, while wearing a Dream Hat, then I traded 8 SP Gobbie Keys to a gobbie box and got a Hoxne Ampulla:

I suspect that new items like this have a slightly higher rate of incidence than much later on ...but who knows for sure? Maybe it's christmas related? I honestly have no idea...

So if you get a new piece of gear, you have to remake your freezes every time, for every job if I'm reading that properly

Carbuncle.Nynja said: »
If I get a new piece of gear, I edit the gearswap (which I have to do anyways) and just run //gs org. Your method sounds like ***tbh.

There shouldn't be any item overlap in your freezes because gear that can be worn by multiple jobs would be placed in your wardrobes (unless they are only being used by one job, in which case they go in your dump bags).

You copy/paste in organizer luas the same way you copy/paste in GS, so I'm not sure why you're trying to make one out to be worse than the other. It's literally the same thing.

Is there actually a reason why you spread your SMN gear across 3 bags? I mean, considering you are linking all of these instructions that indicate [bag], I would assume it's crossed your mind by now...

Speaking of Monstrosity, you get 10% of your xp as Gladiator Prestige when you have the writ of summons and go to one of the three PvM zones. That means you need to farm 500k xp to cap, which is about 2k kills.

BLM isn't doing it for me. I see two paths:
1. PUP
2. Use a mule to farm Infamy, then kill it to convert to prestige

fun fact: if you do this at lvl 90 with a prime weapon, you have access to the prime WS and get the aftermath. the grind still sucks though

I dont understand, they're both instant.

For people finding this thread by googling "ffxi linux windower" and any combothereof, know that things changed a lot since this was posted.

More updated information can be found on http://docs.windower.net/linux/

I did some runs yesterday and didn't have a huge amount of luck - only got one ITG and it was just a pulse weapon. I think like most things there's not a right answer and there are differing views of "optimum" based on where you are in the game. Based on the clear times there are obviously some folks that don't like *** around and just run in and hit the center chest, which I find odd and fascinating, but not inherently the wrong way to do it.
By NynJa on 2025-12-18 11:57:47
ITG is where all the rare goodies are, so yes

The other night I went out, stood around and watched it get fought. Got bored, checked to see if Elegy would land, it did first try. I ran to the next room over and went AFK to go make food for the doggo. Came back like "Oh hey, a fetter on me." *dead*

Sweet, guess I'll go do Chesma trials.
By detlef on 2025-12-18 11:54:53
Did you have to be in XP range to get the atma? I thought it might be zone-wide for key items.

Working on finishing some of the odds and ends for all the Abyssea titles. Is there any reasonable explanation as to why I would already have the Atma from killing an NM, but not the corresponding title you get from killing it? I'm a bit confused as to how that could have happened.

Which Atma? SE does give out Free Atmas from the Abyssea campaign.

Ahhhhh yes, that must be it. Atma in question was Atma of the Omnipotent from Pantokrator, which can be obtained via the chest. Guess I must have skipped killing that guy. Thanks for solving my confusion.

Why anyone would think it's the lowest is ridiculous.

You'd just set 6 members to shoot/cast once then run circles in a different room and it'd completely negate the mechanic.

It's a server-wide fight. There was 211 people at Ultima when I checked. Be realistic.
By Ahlen on 2025-12-18 10:55:31
When we did ultima the fetters only spawned in melee except when a melee group left early and other two times when we had almost no one on ultima. This leads me to think its not lowest in enmity because the most active people were close to boss.

Are we under the assumption the Abjurations, craft materials and current Alabaster/Murky items will all come from the chest?

I think it lines up very nicely that we have 3 new types of materials and 3 waves of NMs. I assume wave 1 unlocks shards, 2 the crafting mats, and wave 3 the omega/ultima parts.

I dont think theres any point to crafting the new armor yet. Theres dialog in the dats from the Operator with instructions about uncursing and upgrading that is not available in game at this time. It might require the coffer upgrade to unlock that dialog.
do we know it's not available...

...or did us cowards just not craft the armor yet?!

I bought one of the shards from of the AH for testing. The notes sound like you trade the shard + matter to the furnace to create the purification item, but I couldn't get it to work in any combination I tried. I assume you need to open an upgraded chest before you are allowed to do this.

After running the file check to get up to date, when I start the game, it creates the big FFXI game window and crashes.
The full file check which you start from the ffxi config not from pol?
