wow the game looks like a FF movie or something, it looks beautiful.
I hope it doesn't need as much dedication, I heard from other websites that SE wasn't allowing them to post screenshots of ffxiv, i guess its harmless here since its a fan site ?
The new battle system looks similiar to the one used in Secret of Evermore. Not entirely the same, but still close enough to see the similarity.
I'm wondering how pet jobs are going to be handled in this game. Summoner is probably going to make it into the game. Would be interesting to see how they handle it, or any other pet job for that matter.
I haven't gotten around to making one yet so I can't answer that, sorry. But I'm GUESSING that you can, or at least you should be able to at release.
The way it is now the retainer system needs some tweaking and streamlining to be be useful IMO, so I don't know if I'll bother messing with it at all.
I can see it being useful for people who Bazaar a lot in XI. I mean I don't really unless I've got an item like an osode(etc) to sell.
But for some people who craft often, it's awesome. I can imagine there being food stalls, and craft stalls etc ^^
I think it's a nice upgrade to the Rollanmarts/Ru'Ludemarts players made in XI, but unfortunately it's not a great replacement for the AH. A couple things I think would be nice are a search menu for items, and for the marketing wards to be loosely organized by what its retainers are selling.
I know its alittle offtopic, but can someoen help me with the benchmark? Like... I open it and then as its loading(Vista user, so it pops up run accept/deny thing, then the race select, then another run thing and then the acual program) it crashes. It says something about it stop responding and then closes. Help if someone can, I wanna know what this crappy laptop scores.

The AH is still going to be in game, according to my sources

I think the crashing might be a good indication as to how it will score lol.

CPU: AMD Athlon X2 7750 Dual Core @ 2.71 ghz
RAM: 4GB
Graphics: ATI Radeon HD 4600 Series 1GB
OS: Windows XP SP3 (Possibly need to upgrade to 7)
That'll run it. Probably score around 2200 on benchmark, which is "Low" performance, but not Minimum performance.
with that 1GB model of GPU, you'll probably be able to keep Texture quality on High, but Shadows, Depth of Field, Multisampling and AntiAliasing will need to be off.
La Noscea has some really cool looking areas. There was this neat little rocky cove that ran around some islands, I would've taken more screenshots but I was one-shotted by an ahriman... >.>

I'm hoping the benchmark overexaggerates things...
because I just bought a brand new laptop
windows 7 64bit home premium
intel quad-core i7 820 @ 1.73GHz
8.00 gigs ram
and
mobility radeon HD 5730 1gig graphics card...
unfortunatly at 1920x1080 I only get an 871 score and at the 1280x720 I get a 1880 score... which is "playable" according to the benchmarks website, but not exactly good.. >_<;;;
Hi, I'm NOT in the Beta. But that doesn't mean I'm not curious as to how the game mechanics will work, and how various things will work. I previously created 2 threads about various news that those of us not in the Alpha or beta won't know.
I know for some of you who have this information will be pissed because I'm breaking the NDA. But quite frankly I don't care. If there are any players like me out there, you'll be itching to find out information, and I'll try to help with all the info I'm getting from my sources and various websites.
Well after all that, let's get going.
Bazaar system:
A retainer is a character which comes freely with your main. This character can only have one name, and will sit in the marketplace when you are offline, or are otherwise indisposed. I assume all money will be kept on the character. You may pay 100 gil a day to get a proper stall, and you can decorate this to look like a weapon shop, or a craft shop etc.
Ability System:
For those of us who aren't in the Beta, here's a bit of information on the Ability system.
The system seems reminiscent of IX's ability set system, and Seems to have a lot of similarities to BLU magic setting.
Crafting
So the crafting seems to be some sort of mini-game. I know currently, synthing is like XI, but gathering materials when you're a miner or another class, works like a mini-game. Better you do, more resources you get apparently.
Classes:
Along with the standard classes, other classes have been found in the dat files Some of these are:
Musketeer, Fencer, Shepherd, Mystic.
There are more, but I'm having a hard time finding info.
