Random Thoughts.....What Are You Thinking?

One other thing I miss about the PSX (and FFXII) days which is kinda strange to point out, but.. Masamune, Hyperion, Save the Queen, Nightmare, Joyeuse & Swordbreaker, and Chirijraden & Ninja Knife. What's so cool about these weapons? You can't *** use them! They are guest character weapons ONLY, and all of those characters are awesome in some way.

In tactics you could use Save the queen and I think Masamune but idk if you are counting those.

I mean main series. Sephiroth's Masamune and Beatrix's Save the Queen could be obtained as replicas, but not equipped. Oddly enough, the replica of the Save the Queen was the same item as Save the Queen, if hacked into the inventory on disc 3, Breatrix could swap between her sword and the replica as there were no differences and her gear wasn't set. Secondly, Save the Queen on FFIX had a set 23 damage, but that only applied to Seiken. The actual damage scaled as she leveled making it the most powerful weapon in the game after lv 85. Basically, it added the user's level to physical damage making a lv 99 Beatrix's weapon damage 122.

122, damn phone.

Sometimes I wonder if Beatrix was supposed to be an unlockable character due to the fact that her weapons levels up with her and she has her own character data.

Fun game. Can't wait until it's out. :3

Honestly I think game programers put stuff like that in knowing we'd hack it.

I'm free! :D I sat my three main ls leads and pals down last night and explained to them what I explained to you guys, that I need a good, long, healthy break.

One of them asked me to log on twice a week for another few months or so to help the last few limbus people get the arch gear that they've been wanting. I agreed. They helped me, and I won't leave them hanging now-- I will be on twice a week to help the folks who've been helping me for the past few years.

One of them was laid back and easy going about it.

The third, last, and only lady of the three tried a quick guilt-trip, something along the lines of "You know, I'd like a break too, but I know that these folks depend on me so I don't ditch them. You should be more understanding of your responsibilities." (Not quite in those exact words.) At that, I told her that she was the one who decided to lead, she was the one who gave herself that responsibility, and even so there was no rule that said she was never allowed to take a break.

Then I bought my bonanza marbles on all my mules and logged off. ^^

I haven't played in a week or so >_> but from what I saw everyone is just busy doing the new stuff and will probably be bored of it soon if not already.(I also don't have the expansion so can't really say anything about it)

Aww, that sounds like the community I used to know, myself included.

The only thing I've really looked into about it is the new jobs, and they both feel like things they could have integrated into RDM and SCH. As if there weren't already enough overlap between jobs.

If you like exploring new places, the new expansion is nice. I loved exploring when I first started playing back as a wee small student! But a lot of people are mad that the new weapons completely blow emps, relics, and mythics out of the water and are not so difficult to get. Those filthy casuals can get good weapons if they feel like it! End of the world!

But if you are bored with the game, the new expansion won't un-bored you. Meh.

Well hey, as you may well remember, I'm one of those people that weren't suckered in by the Abyssea content, yet didn't want to stop playing so I just sorta capped myself at 75 and did old content. Back when I did still play. So the problem I've had was that, I like FFXI, but I don't like Abyssea. And I was hoping to hear that the new expansion made Abyssea obsolete. Which is kind of what those new weapons did. So win-win, in a sense.

I've been looking for an excuse to kill some time while I wait for FFXIV to rerelease, but nothing seems interesting compared to it. D:

It's more about the shift in structure of the game than the weapons being out done. Before there was a wide array of content you could chose from and still make improvements to your character. What we are seeing now is a system where we follow a predesigned trail though content. There is still good stuff to get from older stuff but much of it has been killed by new stuff much more easily obtained from delve, provided you have delve gear. If not you are pretty much in the position of deciding if you want to play brd cor or whm until you do have delve gear.

SoA is basically the same old ***, but with completely broken gear as rewards, it adds GEO and gives you a second RDM that can use Greatswords and 1/16th of the spells.

To be perfectly honest, Relics, Emps, and Mythics are Tanaka's work, it seems like Matsui is shitting all over Tanaka's legacy and trying, horribly I might add, to make his own. Matsui said he felt it was time that R/M/Es took a back seat, I think when he DOES update them with that idea, people will still be disappointed and/or pissed off and start unsubbing. He's taking a step in the right direction by planning to update them "against his vision", but I honestly feel Matsui will be the end of FFXI. Perhaps he'll learn to do a better job in FFXIV, a younger game, but FFXI was my first and will be my last MMO.
