IIRC, FFXI is kinda the only thing pulling in profits for SE, and they probably assume FFXIV will pull in profits, too. Safe to assume, but with Matsui just doing what he wants, not taking into consideration the player's feelings or efforts, I see FFXI failing soon after SoA is completed and FFXIV either failing again or Matsui being removed from his position "for the good of the company."

From what I've seen and heard of FFXIV ARR thus far, it's not only greatly improved, but is popping up on some top 10 most anticipated MMOs of 2013. Which is a pretty big deal because there's tons of MMOs coming out in the future.
Graphics, blah blah blah, they were great in 1.0 and have gotten better, but that's not really the point. They brought up the rest of the game to match that level of quality. At least from what I've seen. Music is great despite not being Uematsu as well. So I'm excited.
Curious question if anyone remembers the way that you can copy POL/FFXI files from one PC to another and just type a few commands in the command prompt so its like it was installed.

I'm generally not one to side with the "we want the game our way" crowd since that just leads to us getting the same stuff over and over again but I feel like Matsui expected players to play just because it was Final Fantasy. He really doesn't seem to have a clue what about much of the game either since he included the Mythic WS in R/E/M correction attempt #1 on top of him apparently thinking more then half the WS count anyways XD
I wouldn't say hes a dork... Just that that 30k post was lame.
Doesn't matter hit 30k.
I've had so many landmark post I can't be bothered to try.
Besides my 30k was in response to a poster from many moons ago.
Better than a collaboration of pics anyways!

It's not all about graphics, I still play old PSX FF games, I do so for the story, gameplay, and designs. I still look at FFIX as the epitome of what Final Fantasy is, it has a fantasy setting in a medieval age with magic-based or magic-enhanced technology. The characters and NPCs had a whimsical design, from the completely realistic humans to the anthropomorphic "beast-kin". FFIX was an artistic masterpiece meant as a salute to the games that came before it.
I think a PS4 remake of some of the older games would do well, we've aleeady heard of FFVIII getting a remastered rerelease and as far as RPGs go, FFVIII was a bit of an underdog.

It's basically the same quality though, just made for 720p or 1080p, I forget which. They aren't changing much and they want to make some quick money out of it.
This is a thread that I found on another website I post at. It can be really really interesting. I thought it deserved a place here.
Post your random thoughts for the day here, or anything else that intrigues you.
For starters, is it possible to give constructive critism to someone who doesn't have a neck? I totally just walked by a girl who didn't. Someone isn't getting a necklace for Valentines day!
And who decided black and white can't be colors? I want to say a racist. I really do.
