I bet if school started later kids would be healthier because they'd get more rest, have less stress, and be more likely to eat breakfast. :o
While at times I agree with this statement, you must also remember that if you change the time they go to school at, they will also more than likely end up staying there later than they do now. I feel that still has the same amount of stress as now as you're not easing up the work load at all and the only thing it really changes is when they will actually feel it is right to go to sleep.
I actually somewhat support the idea of extending the time kids go to school to the weekend, so as to possibly shorten the time kids are forced to be at school during the rest of the week.
As far as the weekend is concerned, that system in my opinion should stay the same. The reason being, students need a reward to look forward to. I know I'm not the only kid in class that counted down the days until Saturday morning (in conjunction with cartoons).

That's true too :-( Darn those kids having fun and staying up late!
My stepmother worked in a school district once that went to school an hour longer Monday-Thursday and then got Fridays off. The kids there seemed to like that extra day to catch up and relax.
I've seen that kind of system before as well. I agree it works quite well for the children.
I know my senior year the school district here decided to change every other Wed to a half-day and extended the school year slightly to make up for it. It got good response from the kids and from what I can tell they're still doing it.
Friday, for me. Getting ready to introduce myself and receiving the class's syllabus. I wonder if they do that stuff in grad school, too. When they did that in community college, I thought there was no way they would do something like that at the university. Oh, how I was wrong.

Yup :3 (is it weird the first thing I did when I opened it was sniff them? :|)
I have to use my PC as my PS2 at the moment though, mine is derping up again (it's been doing it alot lately :| I thikn the laser is dead or dying) Might be time to upgrade to that thin one lol.
This is a thread that I found on another website I post at. It can be really really interesting. I thought it deserved a place here.
Post your random thoughts for the day here, or anything else that intrigues you.
For starters, is it possible to give constructive critism to someone who doesn't have a neck? I totally just walked by a girl who didn't. Someone isn't getting a necklace for Valentines day!
And who decided black and white can't be colors? I want to say a racist. I really do.
