Just idk >.> He hates on all these games without having played them and when he does play them he likes them. Like, we told you they wern't as bad as you assumed.. x.x Idk!
You shouldn't be allowed to think anything about X's story if you're not willing to finish the whole story >.> X-2 isn't just a money making bs game it does finish the story.
I wouldn't go that far... FFX is a compeate story and could have been left as it was. I agree X-2 wasn't just about the money though, they could have gotten away with far less content and just copy pasted the battle system if that were the case.
Did SE intend on making X-2 before they recognised the success of X?

Storywise you can pretty much ignore FFX-2, besides the 'good ending' which you can watch on youtube. But you can play it for the Battlesystem. I liked it that I could learn first what I wanted to learn and learn it quicker by alternating my actions inside the battles. Also I am still depressed that no game after that used the "hitting at same time results in combo"-system T_T
Job-switching while being inside a fight on the other hand made it to FF13, without flashy CSs though.
No Sagi, they can't tell the future.. but that doesn't mean its a money grab game like you assume.
Well, it does actually, if they intended for it to complete the story like you said, it would have been designed that way. Writing a complete story, seeing it do well then deciding to conjure up something more to stretch it out because it makes money is not the same. I don't know if that was the case or not though, just speculating.

They are completely independent games though no? It's not the continuation of a story that was already supposed to be complete.
I'm not saying it makes a bad game or anything, it happens all the time! Look at Mass Effect, Halo, KOTOR, I sincerely doubt the writers planned the entire storyline for all the games in advance. It just bothers me when the story is intended to finish at the end of the game (which has always been the case with Final Fantasy until X-2), then for someone to come along and say to the writers, oh actually we need you to open the story again and make it longer.

My point was more that just because it wasn't planned ahead of time doesn't mean it is automaticly bad. I can't really call X-2 a continuation of the storyline of X. The characters are still there but there but thats it, the main plotline and sub plots for the characters are all starting and ending within 10-2 with out a huge ammount of refrencing, just as all of them in X started and ended in X.
This is the main reason I want to replay X-2, but I'd rather play the International + Last Mission version for the 2 extra dress-spheres. But it's Japanese onry. ;-;

This is a thread that I found on another website I post at. It can be really really interesting. I thought it deserved a place here.
Post your random thoughts for the day here, or anything else that intrigues you.
For starters, is it possible to give constructive critism to someone who doesn't have a neck? I totally just walked by a girl who didn't. Someone isn't getting a necklace for Valentines day!
And who decided black and white can't be colors? I want to say a racist. I really do.
