ok so heres the wonderful story that the hard working SE people have done to me this week.

When trying to log and saying that i couln't and after calling the helpless line to SE telling me that i have been selling gil for money (lol) i think i have to have gil in order to even sell it...

but after talking to the new working at the SE HQ in india they told me that i had too much gil flow within the last week... so apparently you are now suppost to play the game without trading, bazzaring or using the AH... GJ SE heaven forbid you guys do any real work at your job...

then the noob from SE tells my i had a large amount of gil recived in a short amount a time so think back i played the casino (aka Casinoo from those on the asura server known) and won over 18m gil...) winning that much apparently qualifies you as an RMT so for everyone that plays the casino "run away" you get banned for no reason when trying to have fun...

on another note these wonder workers at the SE HQ are the same people in-game known as GM's (aka dont do anything)

SE may have their pitfalls, but identifying RMT's isn't one of them. I'm not buying into the "casino" excuse. SE has an elaborate means of identifying RMT's. It's a 90 day thing, if I remember correctly. If a character does something that causes it to get flagged, it's monitored with a microscope for 90 days, then it may or may not get banned. I don't remember exactly what the character has to do to raise a flag, nor do I remember what the 90 day microscope investigation entails, but yeah, the casino excuse doesn't wash

It most definately is one of their pitfalls. You don't remember the mass bannings for people gardening too much?

it's funny, I've randomly recieved large amounts of gil for no reason, even logged in before with more gil than I logged out and nothing.

I don't get it.

Its the flow not the amount, lots of people got banned on Feb3rd for BS reasons. One was my friend with 700mil on him and I promise you he wasnt RMTing.

Oh, but I DO remember them. And they were selling the gil. It was even published somewhere how they were identified. However, in any investigation, I am sure that some innocents MAY have gotten caught up in it. But I doubt it.

its as liltrouble said, a character would have to exhibit certain behaviors in order for the banhammer to come down. that or someone put in an anonymous tip, believe a friend got banned for no more than that once but who knows.

SE use a bot, called the banbot V1.3.3.7 or something ridiculous. They set conditions for it, and bans people who break them. That is what happened with the gardening. Was nothing to do with seeing them selling gil or anything, was simply because they did too much gardening.

I really don't think people understand. You don't just get banned for a flag. The people that were banned the beginning of this month were under investigation for at least 90 days. The OP of this thread had been under investigation. Even people who had a GM called on them for RMT aren't instabanned. They're FLAGGED They're placed under investigation. Cry fowl all you want. I'm not convinced.

^ fixed

edit * iirc its a 3rd party bot SE bought that looks at EVERY gil and and tracks it - conditions are in place for red flags / bans, and i would doubt a human even looks at the log reports.

I don't think Bombs had even been back to the game for 90 days. Bombs, wtf at least wait a few months before you start selling gil!

I believe OP. At the start of this month i too got a LM-31 ban yet i don't RMT.

This investigation your claiming, that, i'm not convinced of.

shocked I haven't been banned then for porting over 42mil from my mule to buy 4,700 / 6000 byne bills for my next relic, on top of the other silly amounts of gil I've transferred between characters, of which all accumulates on one character before moved over.
