im just curious if people are seeing sales history update. 99% of what i look at doesnt show, and if it does its not for a day or two.

No, a lot of stuff isn't updating on my end either. Random things seem to be? Like Beitetsu - on my profile, it looks as though Beitetsu and H-P Bayld are the only things I've purchased in days, and even though that's how it feels, I have actually purchased other stuff (like clusters)

Then there are other items I've sold (spheres), but they seem to stop showing up as of a few days ago.

Check the AH itself, the site doesnt poll every item 24/7. Its possible those spheres you sold already got pushed off the AH history.

Can confirm this is not the case.

Same, I'm on a tiny server, the AH doesn't change that quickly here. Additionally that was just one example that was easy to remember. Lots of other random items have sold on mules, stuff that only sells once or twice a month, and they are not updating on the site.

it is reasonable to assume the loss of connection between any of us and ffxiah.com is also happening between ffxiah.com and the SE AH server.

Rooks usually does a good job explaining any problems, just gotta wait and see.

Its odd ranking are back up yet guildwork still does not record weapons or titles folks have had for over a decade to contribute to rankings. Still super nice for the bazaar function. Appreciate the efforts, keep on trucking.

Still can't edit any item sets, "Application error" message appears. Is this being looked at already?

Site has been broken for a week or 2. Large chunks don't update anymore. My connector to Guildwork doesn't seem to work. Tings I sold at the AH don't show up anymore.

Is anyone, anywhere working on that ?!

It is being worked on, they mentioned a drive failure in their discord and that this also happened while switching to a new server.

I am sure they are busy trying to solve the problem and that is why we don't see them posting in the threads.

I can confirm only some of the items are updating their sales history. It appears that crafting materials and stackables are updating, but single armor slots are not. I purchased some armor for a job I'm gearing over a week ago and the sales never showed up on my profile. They're slow selling items and only two have sold since then. My purchase history is still visible in game.

What's with the cringe AI image descriptions on screenshots now?

Quote:
Image description
A player character in Final Fantasy XI is shown from a high angle, holding a large, spiked sword above their head. The character is wearing a distinctive conical hat with ornate gold trim and a face covering. Their armor appears to be dark with red accents on the arms and a decorative belt. The background is a plain, light-colored room with a patterned border on the floor. The character's pose suggests they are in combat or preparing for an attack. The item ID 17440 is associated with this page, but the screenshot does not clearly depict or discuss the item itself, its stats, crafting, or any related context. Therefore, manual review is required to determine relevance.

It's probably part of an automated filtering system, or attempt at one. Doesn't seem like it was meant to be shown to users. Makes me wonder if vibe coding is playing a part in the modernization of the site.

Also curious about the database numbers; picked up maybe half of the missing active players since Eiryl pointed it out on the 21st so something changed. Were the old numbers wrong? Are the new numbers wrong? Is it known which or why?

The FFXIAH executive team has instructed it's employees to use AI to improve efficiency and reduce toil for all of their coding tasks. To ensure that this goal is met, they've instituted weekly AI Token usage quotas. Scragg is just doing his part.. ;)

The "search within topic" is broken. For instance, go to the top right and try to search this thread for "history".

The forum post box can only be expanded up and down, not sideways/ diagonally.

Vibe coding? Bruh! They have been running this site for like 20 years or something now. They don't do it with AI.

To best comply with the mandatory AI token usage quotas, developers have implemented AI bots that continuously review code while solving random captcha puzzles and posting the results to a fake repository.

This sounds like sarcasm but ... it's not....

The site went almost entirely unchanged for the last 10 and is now having many components changed rapidly. There is AI integration clearly present in the screenshots and there are erratic results in the database. Of course, it is perfectly possible they integrated the API manually.

Their results seem reasonable and if using AI was necessary to keep the site up and modernize it, I'm not shaming them. I wasn't suggesting they built the initial site with it; that should have been obvious.

I am! The old site sucked but it was functional and the new one somehow manages to look worse!

(now, that said, the RSS feed WAS broken for like a year... but that doesn't justify using the slop machine. nothing does.)

Where do people get a time line of a year? it was not that long and that was 100% on SE no updating the feed with the new posts.

I was too lazy to look it up! Was it three months? I vaguely recall November to February.

you're not the first person to quote it as a year, i guess it is because it was at the end of a year and the start of a year XD idk just weird that i have seen people say it was down for a year multiple times and places.

if "the year 2025" is the amount of time I write "2025" on my checks... well, it hasn't ended yet

and I don't even write any checks! work with me here!
