Since I'm able to wait for my partner to be into the accepted age group to be with I dont have anything to complain about.

It exists regardless of whether it was mentioned or not. A child is a child, why children cannot be punished for crimes such as arson while 'trying to light a camp fire in the shed like the movies!'. It is automatically assumed and applied and only on the rarest occasions are they not.

Which is a reasonable age, because it is around this time you truly begin exploring your sexual preference, you can make choices, you have been educated about it.

Also the purpose of sexed is not to encourage sexual behaviour as many have been suggesting. The real purpose is to inform them of what is in the ins and outs and let the children understand that this is something nobody can dictate to them. I've sat in sex-ed classes just to see what they are showing the kids, and all of it real, natural and unbiased facts. Without warping the truth and showed all sides of the coin, including homosexual relationships.

No matter what anyone says, when you're still a child (or on the cusp of puberty) you are not emotionally ready for a sexual relationship.

An adult ignoring this for the sake of his or her own personal pleasure should be punished. It is abusive, whether you "consent" or not. Firstly, there is a lot of peer pressure surrounding the topic of sex so one can feel pressured into it, especially if a much more mature partner is involved - humans naturally will follow (at least to a degree) someone who appears impressive or in control.

Secondly, what children "want" is not necessarily something they should receive. If your child tells you he wants a gun, you are not going to give him one (I should hope). When he is older and more mature, he will realise why this was the case. Children are often too immature to realise the follies and consequences of their actions and so cannot be trusted to make a decision like this.

Just to clarify, my definition of a child here is below the legal age from the perspective of one much older. If you're a 16 year old with a 15 year old girlfriend (using UK legal age here) then I would not consider this morally wrong (though it is legally wrong). However, if you're a 16 year old with a 12 year old girlfriend -- completely different. She is far too immature to be in a sexual relationship, and I doubt most 16 year old guys are mature enough for one either. They may think they are, but there's more to it than just the physical side which is something they often forget.

Wanting paedophilia to be accepted... no. It is irresponsible to take such a young partner. Stick to the anime and stuff if you really can't find attraction in a grown woman, but don't hurt others because of your tendencies. This is called being responsible, as an adult should be.

Alot of the argument is that he was probably gagging for it as he was a teenage boy. Noone is discounting that fact. However, this should have been done with someone his own age, not a grown woman. This could be flaunted as a "genuine" relationship, but look she ABUSED TWO 11 YEAR OLDS!

I believe that if it wasn't a problem for the boys then she would have never gotten caught in the first place. If those kids felt that they "scored" and it was "awesome", I don't think they would have spoken against her to get her arrested.

Its also important to note that to say that children as young as 11 are not having sex is a little ridiculous. I've had friends tell me that they lost their virginity at 12 and 13, and I've heard too many stories about kids in elementary school having sex. There are elementary schools that have reported gang rapes and its more common than you might think.

Honestly, I'm 32 years old now, married, with an 8 year old daughter of my own. But remembering the the state of mind and sheer curiosity I was a slave to at 11-15 years of age I would have loved to have been "molested" by a woman at that point. A lot of questions and fantasies would have been answered for me. This is a case of protecting children . As stated by a few other posters , CHildren dont know what they do or why they do it . Alot of adults dont either , honestly . But anyone who has read a psych book knows certain part of the brain mature differently in each sex . Hence why we have an 'Age of Consent' and 'Statuatory Rape' (sp) . Look at the To Catch a Predator , who focuses only on Men . These men are gettin caught hookin up with underage girls . While they are gettin arrested there is some Underage girl(s) out there hookin up with older guys , potentially ruining thier lives , by either getting pregnant or kidnapped . This highlights my point that young 'adults' dont think these things thru as thorouly as an Adult . Its along the line of Drunken coersion . You meet a girl/guy at a bar or party with Drugs . Your both under the influence . You have sex . When sober , charges can be filed . This is fact . SInce you were under the influence , you arent subject to the same level of responsibility then sober . This is the thought process with Children/young adults . Incapable of knowing what they want or need or the concequenses of the choice made . Just like a drunken Party girl/guy . Is it right , sex with underage people ?
