I hate the way guns are priced these days.
With fear on new gun laws and to what is considered popular, some of the most common rifles/guns prices get pushed way up.
Not excited that an older Winchester Model 70 goes for $2K to $9K.
I was suppose to start skeet shooting a few years ago but wouldn't mind trying long range shooting. Nothing spectacular just to get better than 50 yards, maybe reliably shoot targets at 300 yards but even that seems alittle too wild for me.
Do not worry about the gun thing so much, it is all being driven by fear tactics from the NRA very intentionally (hence prices). If you look at the actual bills being passed or looked at. all they are is for ammunition controls and proper back ground screening, even at trade fares and gun shows. As well as more internet control of sales so people can not sell armor piercing bullets. I keep thinking real hard the last time I saw a deer wearing bullet proof armor...But I just can not recall any. (*^.^*). GOGO, capitalism(NRA), lol.
Schiz, you want guns? Come out here to Phoenix during one of our thousands of gun shows. Until the laws change, you don't have to wait for a permit.
I hate this state.
O.o Even coming from a mainly rural community where many people hunt and own guns, most every single sane person I know wants more gun control. Cool down periods, heavy background checks, ammunition regulations (ie no need to buy shyt that is military grade unless you plan to do shadey crap). The few I know who are like, OBAMA ain't ner gona take my gun man and very uneducated persons, who tend to have criminal backgrounds and can never seem to walk a straight line both figuratively and actually. We call them the "Can't get rights" but unfortunately all of us have a hand full in our family.

I am just thinking of picking up something to learn and maybe do some small time competing shooting. It's not as common here as in Texas.
I just don't want to invest $2K into something that I may only do a few times a month if I don't get serious with it. I mean if I want to go absolute cheap route, there's 9mm rifles that work great and are allowed in most indoor ranges but they don't really need a scope to use it.
Iron sights, go! Also, you could consider going down the black powder route. My brother is a huge gun advocate and prefers black powder rifles over cartridge. Plus, unless it changed recently, they're relatively cheap. Like maybe 2 hondo.

My dad's side of the family are all like that. My grandfather had a rack of guns which he proudly displayed before he gave them away to family members. And my uncle on that side is the same. Both of these men (and my gun fan brother) keep their televisions locked on Faux News on a perpetual basis.
It is really not complicated. When I used to manage catering account all across the US (10 years ago min you). I could type in some basic information in to back ground data bases, which you do have to pay for. and get people recent 10 years employment, fed and state back ground checks, verify college records, etc. even now, we sign our name to so much crap with the tech age being where it is, this is not a complicated venture. Everyone knows this. You are just really a victim of the current capitalistic government we have. If you are joining a shooting club it may just be best to ask around there locally.
This is a thread that I found on another website I post at. It can be really really interesting. I thought it deserved a place here.
Post your random thoughts for the day here, or anything else that intrigues you.
For starters, is it possible to give constructive critism to someone who doesn't have a neck? I totally just walked by a girl who didn't. Someone isn't getting a necklace for Valentines day!
And who decided black and white can't be colors? I want to say a racist. I really do.
