I think once i read something about a font that was indeed protected by copyrights, then Microsoft invented a variation just slightly different just to avoid paying for it.

I dont remember if it was arial, verdana or other
Font files are copyrighted, so that would make sense. The font design isn't.
So if Microsoft was trying to include Arial in Office for example, but Arial didn't want to sell legal rights to Microsoft, they couldn't legally distribute that font file with their software.
I feel like, out of all nocive social media, TikTok is the one particularly dangerous and harmful.
I feel like I can at least gain something out of most social media platforms if I carefully choose how I will engage with them. That being said, I can't do TikTok. I feel dumber for every second spent there.
Dood. Tiktok is literally softcore child porn aimed at tweens (and pedos)
Charlie D'Amelio is "famous" for being a 17 year old dancing in swimwear.
Addison Rae is "famous" for being a 17 year old dancing in swimwear.
Nessa Barret got famous for being a 17 year old dancing in swimwear.
It's pretty blatant. It goes riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight up to the line, and flirts with it hard as ***. There's nothing inherently wrong with teenage girls dancing in "swimwear" (thongs) but "come the *** on".
That being said, I can't do TikTok. I feel dumber for every second spent there.
It "does" ACTUALLY make you "dumber" when you consume things like that 30 second bursts, highlights, etc it programs your brain to seek that. You start to be unable to sit through 5 minute videos, half hour shows. It's the same thing with watching vods in 1.5x or 2x... you can't go back. it feels weird.
It's kind of like an experiment in how to give a human ADHD.

There's some neat people on it. A few "skit people" (a lot of dumb) and my favorite: musical talent. Oh there's also a very wholesome puppeteer on there who just seems like a really nice person and it's soothing, like a Yang to my Yin.
Also sharing some chuckle worthy videos with others is fun. But some people share really stupid ***.
Oh, also Dan Povenmire is amusing (Finneas and Ferb creator).

Reminds me of how shows, cartoons especially, have been going in the direction of increasing the frequency of jokes. Spongebob Squarepants was apparently some kind of game-changer in the industry with some kind of switch going off in the brains of viewers that made everything with slower jokes no longer funny to them. A study from the AAP (the study used a small sample size, so it may be unreliable) showed watching that show gave kids "temporary ADD".

I don't know what it is about TikTok videos, but I can't stand them. Like, people share with me videos from that platform all the time, and I've altogether given up because it's super not funny at all to me. At least from the comedy end of things, it's as though everyone is just trying waaaaaaay too hard to become a celebrity.
I never watched SpongeBob, kinda surprised me when i saw some youtubers having it in high standards, maybe because he replaced all of our old toons (looney toons, woodypecker, mickey, tom and jerry, etc).
While im not being fair to SpongeBob, i feel (again, never saw any episode, only fragments) like it kinda tries to make kids dumber than smarters.
And when i admit im not being fair, its because i cant prove old toons were any better.
But i dont remember them trying to be funny by being explicitly dumb (majority of them were dumb, but they were sober imo).
I mean, it's an innocent cartoon. I don't think anyone is trying to do anything outside of earning a paycheque and making kids laugh.
In this 21st century NOTHING is innocent.
There are scientific studies about exactly how to get people addicted to vid games. I would be willing to bet there are some about how to get kids addicted to cartoons.

I would say one of the most terrifying way to make someone addicted to a game is gacha.
Thats a devils work. Impressive how little resistance people have to this
Back in the day, as I was very young, i never noticed how unbalanced was MewTwo to the original games.
Not to say you normally just fight against it once, and all that trouble could be skipped by a Master Ball so you never get to appreciate how wild it was.
Related note, I will never forget when my friend made fun of me due to how I used to pronounce move's name "Psychic".
At that time, globalization was near to none so it was not like we were hearing english here and there so I used to spell english words using native language acccent. So Psychic sounded like Psy - Chic.
Since then, every time I used this move, this kind of image never again left my brain:

Yeah I remember relying heavily on Mewtwo in my original gen-1 game to grind the Elite Four for no reason.

Honestly, that was a pretty good guess. English sucks. Even as a native speaker, I pronounced stuff wrong all the time. There are still times when I'll look at a word and not know for sure.
This is a thread that I found on another website I post at. It can be really really interesting. I thought it deserved a place here.
Post your random thoughts for the day here, or anything else that intrigues you.
For starters, is it possible to give constructive critism to someone who doesn't have a neck? I totally just walked by a girl who didn't. Someone isn't getting a necklace for Valentines day!
And who decided black and white can't be colors? I want to say a racist. I really do.
