just started a several month break from ffxi

i'm not burnt out on the game
I guess i just don't like it

it holds so many of my favorite things video games can give
beastmaster, bonecrafting, tanking, pvp


I just find so much wrong with the game it really stops me

segs sortie dynad all are terrible in my opinion
cp/ep m.lvls all terrible
crafting mats on ah selling +1s selling fish terrible

I liked just logging my char in to chat with ls
but I didn't even like to do that several weeks before my break

the race change was very cool
but it literally only fixed so much other than that it's basically like nothing changed
if you played a female char you switch to a male and now a male that's the biggest change female to male or male to female

at this point I don't even care about ffxiah rank and that was the best thing ffxi had going for it for over a decade

mostly it's all because I can't smoke and play
if i'm not smoking I just want to go fast fast fast to get to where I can smoke
ffxi is kinda slow in that regard
if I am high from smoking oh hell yeah i'll play a slow game and work at it I want to feel the burden and make my high last as long as possible

I literally cannot think of one good event in the game or a good event the game has had in the past 5? years
the last thing I did that was actually fun was raising a perfect chocobo rieurturbo

ep solo is terrible you have to be in such a specific spot in life to enjoy it
who the heck wants to do the same thing for 15 hours just to lvl up and have to do the same thing for 30 hours
it's like 1,700,000 ep at lvl 40 and ur getting like 40,000 ep an hour and that's supposedly good (solo)

everything feels like a major waste of time
and in fact unless you actually get something done it is a complete waste of time
somehow standing doing nothing to build and conserve energy is the best choice

it's like because the game so so full of wasted time and long sell time
you expect so much more for the time you put in
if I play a month I expect 300m
that's 10m a day
end up only making 3.333m a day 100m a month and I don't even want to play
100m in a month is so small it's not even worth it to play

and if I took a guess over all the playerbase 100m is probably pretty decent
but it isn't lol
and there's no events you can do to even make that besides mercing or crafting

for the last several months
I felt the best way to make gil was to do nothing and sit on what you had
because to go out and do any event is a waste of time almost 100% of the time

spamming the same thing over and over for a chance at 5 7 10m isn't fun
you have to be high to enjoy something like that
and that's a entire month of doing something on repeat and you may only make 7m if you get the drop once

crafting lets say you need a stack on moonbow stones it'll have sales history of 15m that literally just happened that day or the day before then you go to buy and they want over 22m
then you don't look for a day like 2 days later and someone snipes a 15m
then it goes for a few more days and the person is buying at 22m

selling +1s if you don't undercut they don't sell
if you go over it never sells
if you just leave the market and let someone own it the price goes up
then you can undercut with the price up and usually get the last sell price

on a 15m item you put it up for 15m it won't sell only 1 sells every week or two week+
if you put for 14.2m it'll usually sell but it may not in the week
if you leave the market for a month or two it'll be at 17m then you can list for around 16.5 and sell

voidwatch is a waste digging is a waste pirates chart is a waste vrtra is never up farming mats is made near impossible

like for yggdreat bole I need to do the delve and I have the extra chars to meet the delve 3 person entry
but I have to do the adoulin missions to get a ki to get the alts into the delve area
okay i'm not going to do that lol
even if I can make hundreds of millions off of it

and camping vrtra is a waste because it's only dropping like 300k worth of mats it can take like 5 days to spawn how freaking stupid

oh and no nm is worth camping games literally got hundreds and hundreds of nms and none are worth it besides vrtra who 100% of the time ur getting like 300k

no one pvps and pvp is probably the most fun entertaining event in the entire game

somehow besieged is getting the most work done to it
and everyone is confused by that

I like brd I like bst I like digging even though it's a waste of time partying or soloing ep is a waste of time but it's the best thing the game has to offer even being a complete waste if you consider just making the 400m and paying for mlvl 1-50 I like bonecraft but it is so close to being a waste of time it's not even funny even with an escutcheon I love pvp no one does it I like pirates chart but it's a waste of time considering mkris drop rate and falling price I like killing vrtra it's never up I usually like chatting in ls but I don't like answering questions or talking about the game I like being silly in chat and talking about my cat salem

mastering all jobs seems like a waste i'll never play them and I don't even want to play to master them
and I could pay 15m and master them
building the useless relics seems 100% pointless even if it's just for ffxiah points it's not worth the gil spent
it's not worth playing to make the gil to get the ffxiah points

I'm at the point now a firmly believe this game is never going to get better
I've been holding on and I can clearly see
this game is never going to get better
and the people that enjoy it the very few of them all have something major wrong with them or they get paid to directly play the game

the most fun part of the game usually ends up being talking about food in ls chat
someone mention eating pork belly and you reply I eat menudo
most memorable ls conversation

did you wash your hands
because you better not of washed your hands
I don't know why everyone thinks washing hands is good
then we're all laughing about how this guy doesn't want us to wash our hands after we go to the wc

I'm sorry but how stupid does it have to get to have fun in this game
I see youtube videos and i'm like "How bored does a person have to be to watch that one"
I feel exactly the same about every event in ffxi

I don't even feel wrong by saying ffxi is the most boring game out but it is also the best game out
somehow you pay however much you pay and all you do is stand there or waste time

i've never said it before
but the way they make things so much harder for better gear
is just freaking stupid
stop that eventually
any day now we'll quit building our char and gathering gear
and eventually have fun like we used to
but no it feels like it'll always be a harder foe and more gear to get that literally no one can do unless they run a static or multi box

it upsets me that so many people do segs for gil
and what they get 2.5m tops
freaking give 2.5m for ballista and scale all the 119 moves to be appropriate like 60 cap is for the most part
bring back hnms have pvp drop gil like segs add nms with drops that actually sell
who cares if it's a lvl 15 nm that drops a bis 119 mlvl 50 item
that's what this game needs right now
