There are 100% minimums for content in order to rank up, e.g. campaign ops for the latter tiers of mastery rank.

Fixed that for you

You need things like campaign ops, because you need their "points"

Don't conflate "have to do them because you HAVE to do them" with "you have to do them, because they count"

There's rank 8s who never touched campaign ops, for example

Where is this rank 8 person who has done 0 campaign ops?

To further this I'd like to add I was MR6 and not getting anywhere, finished my 3rd nation to rank 10 and immediately went to MR7.

All these people ranks 5 6 7 8 9 with totally random amounts of campaign ops. If some magically number minimum were required, why doesn't it appear so.

None of those are 0 ('never touched'). Rank 7 is a low rank now, and the first quote was a good example of a minimum being required. Mine was 10 for hitting rank 8, and that first poster you quoted dinged as soon as they did 20.

It'd be a (long, pointless) test, but after basically doing it myself, you can not get rank 8 or 9 now without doing campaign ops (or monstrosity, or ...) which means there is a minimum of x activity for ranking up.

And they only start mattering at rank 8, rank 7 you could have 0, sure sure.

Said it 3 years ago, still works now. Again, feel free to try and do everything and skip campaign ops altogether and get rank 8 or even 9.

I guess I can't find a rank 8 with less than 10 even it's an extremely stupid statement to think 10 would be required for it.

Why they would wait until rank 8, and why it would only be 10. Definitely *** but it'd take a year to prove it wrong.

Speaking of Campaign Ops does anyone know if Prying Eyes I requires your nation of allegiance to own every area in their region besides the beastmen stronghold? It's my final Op. I looked at that detailed list that was posted a few pages back detailing how to open all the Ops and such. For Prying Eyes I it mentions repeating Slaughterhouse (unsure which Tier. I'm repeating III since IV is northlands and doesn't seem relevant). I'm asking because Windurst does not have control of Oztroja but also lost control of Sauromugue. I switched to Bastok to compare the Ops because they control all of their zones besides Beadeaux and Prying Eyes I IS available there. Just curious if anyone has memory of completing this one while areas in the stronghold's region were not controlled.

What are a list of things that are speculated to count but no one has confirmed just yet?

I have seen some speculation here and there but don't know if anyone's made a list of untested vs tested ideas yet.

But who knows. It all counts so just do it all is basically the only lesson. Most people stick to easily trackable things though, so I don't think there's anyone out there counting things like 10k kills with each job or kill every nm in the game 5 times or stuff like that

AFAIK it's every rank up we have seen in this thread from the beginning of the thread to the reference at the top of the talk page. I just haven't updated it in about 20 pages.
